Hi There

Has anyone attempted this on palit cards yet? I am super nervous about updating my 3090.

On the website:

There is a bios update file as a .exe

Has anyone attempted this yet?

Regards

Will also attempt to upgrade my Palit 3070 later today. Also nervous will keep you posted.

Just did my Palit 3070.

I just ran the .exe and screen flashed a bit and then it restarted.

Done

Okay thanks doesnet seem to be a big thing at all ... and any performance increases ?
My mobo bios was updated to support the R-Bar so now just need to do GPU and driver

I Will test performance tonight hopefully.

what pops up? does it guide you through the process and tell you to when its done and when to restart?

Need to update my motherboard BIOS first, will try and do mine later. Also on a 3070.

It pops up a windows that says not to power off your machine.

Then it gives you the option to make a backup of your current Vbois(Which I did). After that it asks if your sure you want to update you firmware and then it runs. Takes about 2 minutes total

What is R Bar again?
TL;DR = allows CPU to directly access ALL the VRAM on GPU (used to be smaller, made little difference).

Ok thanks for this!

Hmm, interesting - keen to hear if it adds more performance than my racing strip
Nope it wont,

RGB and Racing strip will have a average FPS increase of around 30%
R-BAR will only have a average increase of 5-8%

Will be better to add more RGB and strips to your PC

Motherboard (Strix B550) & GPU (3070) Bios updates all went without a hitch. Also installed new NVidia driver.

Nothing tested yet.

I Updated my Gpu and my Mb
But when you enable it in the Bios it switches to Uefi and my system is not Uefi
So before i can test it i need to re-install Windows
So just a heads up

Luckliy I re-installed when I upgraded late last year. Also created a new boot image just to be safe.

I’d presume that you could save it by booting into windows on a secondary GPU and then rerunning the BIOS upgrade exe.

ive soft rocked my motherboard and saved it, I’m sure you could do the same with a graphics card.

Hmmm

Updated GPU BIOS
Updated Mobo Bios (Gigabyte Auros Z390 Pro)
Updated nvidia softare

When i enable the "above 4g decoding" and i enable resizable Bar my system does not boot the VGA debug led turns on and system does not boot.

Check if your system did not change to Uefi, the moment you enable rebar and above 4g decoding it changes by itself, turn it off and switch back to normal
That is why I made my first post

You already bought a Palit... how much worse could your card get with a vbios update if done correctly?

This is a Quote :
I have the same mobo and went through the process yesterday. Once in the BIOS, go to advanced mode. Then settings, IO ports, and enable “Above 4g Decoding”. Then rBAR support should pop up below it. Make sure CSM is disabled and boot mode is set to UEFI. Should be good to go after that.

See if you do not have Uefi System it will not work
This is for the :

Gigabyte Z390 Aorus Pro WiFi
