Does anybody here have experience with using surveillance drives for their media server?
I have a fairly busy plex server, currently using WD Gold drives, but I'm running our of space. I don't want to pay R5k for a new drive and I see mostly surveillance drives for sale 2nd hand.
I know surveillance drives uses different firmware and are designed to write 24/7, but will it work fine for a media server application? Or should I just cough up the 5k for a NAS drive?
