Massdrop x Sennheiser HD 6XX
Genuine Sennheiser velour earpads
HD 650 replacement cable

The earpads that came with the HD 6XX from Massdrop felt a little on the rough side and didn't provide the same level of comfort that I remember my HD 650 had, so I replaced them with the genuine pads, which worked perfectly.

The original cable is rather limiting, much prefer the longer cable. Both are included.

I've owned them too far apart to be able to give you any significant insight on how they compare from an audio perspective, but I was happy with the audio qualities for both of them.

From an overall product perspective, the 650 did have a much more premium quality look and feel to it. I only realised this when I got the 6xx and didn't get the same level of comfort. I could wear the 650's for 12 hours without noticing them, but the 6xx didn't provide the same experience. Luckily swapping out the earpads worked for that. The other differencess are subtle, but this does give the 650 a better presentation.

Massdrop is known for providing premium quality products at a lower price point by cutting costs that don't have any negative impact the operational quality of the product. I reckon they did this successfully.

Apologies, this has been sold. I forgot to close off the thread.
