Hi All

I left a game to downloaded on Friday and when I got home the screen made funny lines/artifacts at first.I panicked and restarted and it just got worse, half the screen turns a different color or loses the image completely. It also freezes so I can't do much.I suspect the GPU.

I've tried to Uninstaller and reinstall the graphics drivers but getting the same errors. also present in safe mode and also reset windows and problem is still there.

Any advice ?Also any recommendations on where to take it to get fixed?Location is Northern Suburbs Cape Town.

Try re-plug your display cable or use another one. Otherwise your gpu is dying, time to buy a replacement.

Sanity check, if you have an onboard GPU on your CPU, plug the cable into your motherboard and check if the lines still appear.
If they do its most likely an issue with the cables, if everything appears normal its most likely a problem with your GPU :). GL

This def sounds like a cable issue.
From what I have seen if a GPU is dying it will affect the entire display with artifacts/rainbow lines/speckles etc, or just be dead.
Swap out the cable and see if that sorts the issue.

If you are close to the Kraaifontein area you are more than welcome to come pick up a HDMI cable from me if you don't have spares.

I have seen something similar after hitting a desk very hard. Could be that something is touching/shorting in the case//mobo.

Either that or your cable/port is dodgy

Thanks I did try that and no luck. Will take it in this weekend.

Thanks for this ,unfortunately no onboard gpu on cpu,but thanks for the suggestion.I think it will be best to take it in.

Thank you, I actually also live in Kraaifontein. But I've checked all ports and also swopped the cables and the same issue is there(with display cable and HDMI)
