Has anybody managed to get hold of Scott recently? He is not responding to my emails for an update on my order. The phone number goes straight to voicemail.

Hi all, outstanding customers you have a mail.

@mods, this thread is going to explode with very angry, rightly so, customers, it is certainly a bannable offence but I request my account be left open for a set amount of time in order to respond.

Very confusing comms though, 5 days ago you said my package (that I paid you, in full, 2 months ago) was on the way to ZA.

Can I clear the package myself?

Good Day



It is with deep regret that after consultation with relevant parties and due to the company being unable to meet debt obligations we are obligated to cease trading and begin the liquidation process.



This process unfortunately freezes all supplier contracts as is, as well as any assets the business may have. This includes all incoming and held stock as of 07/08/24.



As a result we will be unable to deliver to deliver outstanding orders.



All customers owed funds are being added to the creditor list but please note the liquidation process will take a considerable amount of time and there is no guarantee that monies will be available to refund.



I am extremely sorry to all affected customers to whom we have been unable to supply service to, this was not our intent but a combination of factors have come together making it impossible to continue operating.

Highly unlikely.

What is likely going to happen is that the liquidation officer will clear it and add your package to the assets of the entity as the clearance fees will be lower than the asset value.

Another possibility is that the package sits at customs forever in purgatory and someone takes it home as their bonus or it winds up in the bottom of some pile of boxes.

I dont think there are any packages. We will never know when the last order from the suppliers was made. These "delays" were because nothing had been ordered.
 
Think you definitely need to clarify what will be happening with packages that are in transit (bought & paid for by others) that were in your care/warehouse @ScottulusMaximus

My last 2c, if any affected customers need help with the liquidator's forms, hit me up (have experience with this in my professional capacity (from trade credit debtors that go into liquidation))

Would the warranty not be with the ultimate supplier (a different shipping/freight/forwarding party can be used for any claims)?

In my instance, its the lithium batteries, which he is the supplier/distro for.

Almost bought another battery two weeks ago when he announced a special, now glad I didn't

There wasn't one in the box, documents are on his web page.

The domain for the batteries is different from the shipping, maybe its different companies and only the shipping company is going down ?

Time would tell I guess. Would be pissed sitting with 2 batteries less than a year old with no more warranty, but its better than the guys who never got what they paid for.

Could be that they had shared debt funding & thus are both in caca - could just be a contract with NetCash (may expire sooner or later)

Since posting this the products have been removed, orders cannot be placed anymore
 
It's worth posting what was posted on AVForums.co.za by another user who has had some interaction with Scott recently:

I got your email now and in hindsight you are very dishonest. I ordered in May, you could have told me then that you were liquidating but instead you took my money. If you were not liquidating in May, you sent me an email in June saying that my goods were in transit to SA but never arrived. Again, if you were not liquidating in June, my goods should have been delivered but if you were, you should have said something then and not strung me along in June.

Another thing in hindsight is that on 24 June you said to me that you were in for minor surgery and was unable to work but on this thread in early July you say you were on holiday in Zim. I think we can make up our own minds as to what happened here.

It appears that you shafted alot of customers this year and that's why you are crying bankruptcy now. You took monies knowing that you cannot deliver.

If the same thing happened to users here, is this a bannable offence?

It is also highly questionable that Scott has not posted in this thread that he has ceased trading. The entity's website is also fully functional with no mention that liquidation is underway.

This is indeed questionable - was it a honeymoon or surgery @ScottulusMaximus

Think a support thread is warranted
 
Important reading here, too. LOTS of upset customers and Scott was apparently taking orders - and money - on Friday, 2 August but notified the liquidation on Tuesday, 5 August.

And it's a VOLUNTARY liquidation, meaning he knew it was coming!

I was able to place an order yesterday @3:15pm. Last step was payment which I obviously didn't do, but netcash payments were still being accepted at that time.

Voluntary liquidation isn't voluntary, it's a legal obligation once a business knows they cannot meet debt requirements, this was made at a meeting with my auditors on Monday.

I was able to place an order yesterday @3:15pm

All products should now have been pulled down and all trading ceased as of Monday.

I sincerely apologise for the inconvenience and financial losses, the whole situation has been a mess but I take full responsibility for it.

Just to confirm, your auditor or accountant (your PI score would not mandate an audit)?
 
The more I look at the timeline of my order the more questions I have.
Did you wake up one morning and decide to call it?

7 June order placed
31 July I mail you asking for an update
1 August you confirm it's en-route, delayed because you had "operational issues"
6 August you mail me saying you can't meet your debt obligations

Empty and insincere words aside, what's happening with our battery warranties dude?
Some clarity from your side around it is better than none. I'm sitting right now with what I'm convinced is a problematic battery. Whats my recourse here?

Liquidators will do it, takes ages though and extremely unlikely that anyone will get a full refund if any are possible
