Raven's Gigabyte G1 gaming build

This time I am not going overkill and build a pure gaming rig. It was very difficult to choose between MSI, Asus and Gigabyte, but I decided to go for the latter because of good experience in the past.

This thread will by mostly a picture gallery and build log as I go along, unfortunately no modding or custom cooling.

Very nice build, the new Gskil looks awesome ^ ^. Definitely hunt for the silver 540 it's the best out of the series other then the white . Nice gaming system, IGN 10/10 XD

A ton better. They 2666 was the only red kit they had stock of, but I figured they all use the same ICs and will probably be able to overclock it, not that it will make a big difference, maybe 1-2fps @ 2k. Could help min fps a bit.

UPDATE: The SP140L fans that the H110i GT comes with are OEM corsair fans and does not come with rubber grommets to help with vibrations as the retail counterparts. Raven's ghetto mod, insert small rubber orings like washers between the screw-fans and fans-radiator.

Yes. I must say that it is very nice and fantastic layout. Its also smaller than I thought, but the same time has more space for all my stuff.

yeah I came from a 900D down the the 540 and thought "damn this thing is tiny my cables are going to be a mess!" and then I looked in the back and realised I could sleep in there haha

Build complete except for the SSHD that was DOA.

Now the tweaking starts. CPU currently at 4.5Ghz with a max of 68C when stressing, 52C while gaming and 31C idle with the H110i GT in quiet mode. The GPU is nearly silent and max temps during 3dmark is 62C

I really like the case as well - just wish the gpu was mounted vertically. I have a bit of OCD when it comes to gpu "sagging".

I must say with the thick cooler, backplate and reinforced pci-e slots there is basically 0 sagging.
