Currently Fnb offers 15.08 to the dollar for buying (they'd have to buy thst dollars to give you randelas) , and there will likely be a surcharge too, but in the end I think it would be easier to just link your PayPal and do it all in a few clicks than having to deal with multiple users and the risk associated with it (yes the other party mostly assumes this risk, but they could claim that you underpaid and run off to PayPal with some story)

Yes, you'd be subject to some light scrutiny maybe, but 10k for one person in the grand scheme of things is not really something to make them interested in you

Thanks for the insight, there's no harm linking it via FNB. If the rate is fair, it would indeed make it a safer and quicker solution.

Sadly the rate is never fair. They sell you dollars for 15. 7, but hey, no financial institution is going to get you a fair rate. If you had a stack of Euros in your pocket, now that would have been a fair rate as many cafe owners would gladly help you out ( yes I used a stereotype of a Greek cafe owner, don't kill me please)
