Yo I was wondering is it really worth swapping Nvidia 3070 for a Radeon 6600XT or 6800XT I can't remember what GPU is it was? But I just would like some opinion from people who have a Radeon and Nvidia. I don't much game requiring hard Graphics but I still would have to enjoy having good graphics and best framerate.

CPU - Ryzen 7 2800

Motherboard - Rog Crosshair 7 hero

Monitor - Samsung Odyssey G6 2560x1440 27" 165hz

Ram- Corsair Vengeance 3600mhz (Doesn't Boot up with 3600 so base speed is 3000 because of CPU I think)

6800XT will be faster by about 10%. Ray Tracing will make the 3070 faster.

6600XT will be slower in all scenarios.

6800xt is awesome until you turn on ray tracking. 6800xt also a beast on warzone

Hahaha appreciate but i don't play warzone that's normally what my dad plays i normally join now and then but not often

Interesting but I actually don't own any games that use ray tracing that I know of
Then the 6800XT will be the better choice. The 6600XT is the worst choice in all scenarios, of the 3 you listed.

Swapping doesn't make sense unless there is a specific game that you're playing that would perform meaningfully better on the other GPU. Maybe wait until you get a new game that runs badly on the 3070, then check benchmarks to see if it will run much better on the other GPU.

For me I wouldn't bother, it's too much effort for a small increase in performance.

Ray tracing is a gimmick to keep people on team green because " It's the future " Like okay bud enjoy your game in 5 FPS then

So does the 6800XT still push out much graphic Performance as the 3070 because now and then I do like to go on some open world game and just pump out the quality so I can enjoy the game and just chill you know like e.g (Subnautica, going to get the new ARK , Elden ring , Warframe, Destiny 2 etc ) i know some of them dont require much graphics but still interested if the XT can push out the same performance as the 3070 graphics wise and FPS

Look at you stopping the CUD.

Another option to consider would be a CPU upgrade to something like a 5800X3D if you can find one. Big gains to be had from a newer CPU. Both in gaming and in terms of general system responsiveness.

Thank you sorry iI haven't looked much into Radeons GPU's was just curios I appreciate the Response

It will be faster than the 3070, but not massively so. I agree with @goldfritter, if you aren't having performance issues now, I would probably not replace the 3070 with a 6800XT. It will not be a major performance improvement.

The 6800XT is a bit faster than the 3070, but not that much faster.

I don't know if you can upgrade from a "Ryzen 7 2800" to a 5800X3D, I've never heard of one and Googling brings up a laptop CPU.

Jokes aside, the 5800X3D is actually a great idea and is a much more logical upgrade than a 6800XT

Yeah i have been looking into upgrading my CPU but haven't found the bucks to do it YET. But also ben having Problems with my motherboard sadly but yah thanks for Responding guys rly Appreciated it

What's the problem with your motherboard?

What's the problem with your motherboard?
So lately when i've been gaming like for afternoon(3ish) to evening(8 or 9 depends on the day) what happens is deadass stp and smacl me with code 8 and i realised what the ROG manual said it means not even Power to CPU so spoke to insurance we got a new power supple not even 1 week later the same thing happened. So fixed the Wall mount worked for 2 or 3 hours then code 8 again so we have come to a conclusion its more than likely the motherboard reaching its end. so Now i only use my PC on a friday for like 4hrs before it dies again

Powersupple is a 800 watt or 900watt

I would say if you're having power or system instability issues, the last thing you need to do is upgrade your GPU.

6800XT has 16gb vram and in certain games (Hogwarts, AC: Valhalla etc) it'll perform much better than the 3070. It's more "future proof" imo.
