One of the fans in my PC is making noise, cant put it in words but it's like a faint humm.
I was able to turn off the front fans from the Fan Xpert2 software so I know it is not the front fans. I dont have any spare components to swap and check so how do I isolate the fan causing the problem?
I am running
Intel Core i5-8400 with stock cooler
Asus TUF B360M-PLUS GAMING Intel B360
Palit GeForce GTX 1050 Ti Dual OC NE5105TS18G1-1071D 4GB GDDR5
Super Flower SF-550F14MP(WH) Leadex 550W
Fractal Design FD-CA-FOCUS-MINI-BK-W Focus G Mini Windowed Black Steel Micro-ATX Mini Tower Desktop Chassis

Physically unplug each fan and see which one is noisy... only other way.

You can try some Q20 once unplugged but fans are cheap enough to replace :)

apart from the chassis fan which is the front only the CPU, GPU and PSU fans are left to try. I have tried switching off the chassis fan and it dint make a difference. Is turning off the fans on the other components by unplugging them safe ?

I once had a noise which turned out to be the dust filter that had slowly been pulled towards the fan and started rubbing.
So check that if applicable.

Also could be a cable against the fan too.

You never heard this from me, but you could just stick your finger in the fan to stop it. "Most" components have overcurrent protection for when you do this and you'll have to give it a nudge to restart the fan.

Pro tip* use a plastic object when trying to stop the PSU fan, and sticking that plastic object (pen) into the PSU before you power up the PC to reduce the risk of damaging the blades.

All cables are tucked away, nothing in front of the fan.

I will give it a try

You are going to have to test everything one by one.
Also don't forget the HDD, they are also quite loud.

In my PC, the biggest noise maker are the HDD.

Make sure you test your HDDs as well, sometimes the vibration from them resonates with other components and creates the hum thing. Have had that before and its rather annoying.
