I agree go B550 but not because pci-e makes a difference (it doesn’t, not really, not unless you’re using a 6500XT or 4090) but because it doesn’t use a second chipset for the lower pci-e 16X slot which can be a pain and isn’t really useful since SLI/Crossfire is no longer a thing.Go with a B550 board. Below that you lose PCIE 4.
Doesn't resizeable bar etc also only exist from B550 up? Can't recall off hand.I agree go B550 but not because pci-e makes a difference (it doesn’t, not really, not unless you’re using a 6500XT or 4090) but because it doesn’t use a second chipset for the lower pci-e 16X slot which can be a pain and isn’t really useful since SLI/Crossfire is no longer a thing.
AMD chipsets can be a pain even when there’s only one. The second just makes things far worse.
Maybe. I think that some B450 boards would get it (MSI has that B450 Mortar Max which very well supported).Doesn't resizeable bar etc also only exist from B550 up? Can't recall off hand.
Top end mobo pricing has gotten insane, I saw the reviews on the 5600X3D and %700X3D and would also dump my money into them over an excessive mobo. I don't tweak stuff much so it wouldn't be worth it for me. Also, I might still be salty after owning two X370 systems. 🤣Maybe. B450 is fine for 95% of all users and can be had for cheap since people want B550.
I’d happily run a B450 with a 5700X3D over an X570.
I had an X570 Tomahawk and hated it.Top end mobo pricing has gotten insane, I saw the reviews on the 5600X3D and %700X3D and would also dump my money into them over an excessive mobo. No, even some 3xx series boards have rebar, it's CPU dependant though.Doesn't resizeable bar etc also only exist from B550 up? Can't recall off hand.
