Msi p67 gd80 B3 Help

I am buying this mobo the end of the month, when you look at the mobo left of the cpu there is 1x 6-pin ATX 12V VGA connector, any idea what you use this for???
It cant be for the cpu cause there is already 2x4connection on the right hand side and it cant be for the onboard gpu cause it doesnt have onboard.
I will be using all 3 pcie slots...

6 pin is to supply the pci-e slots extra power for extreme OC.

Do i have to have it connected for the mobo to work or will it work with out?

Not a must, more for the ln2 benchers.
