Mod cm 690 ii

Hi guys im thinking of modding my cm 690ii case.

I have the non windowed side panel and just want to get the solid part of the side panel laser cutted with maybe a game insignia and put on some clear perpex over it.

SO got a few questions as this will be my first mod.

1.Where can i get the sidepanel laser cut? and how much do companies charge for it more or less?
2.Should the insignia be drawn first on the sidepanel or can it be done with a programe from the laser cutter?
3.Should i put the perspex on the outside or inside? With glue and screws? or just glue?

Any advice would be apreciated

Maizey's Plastic sells the perspex and they do signage so you could ask them about the insignia etching.

with the mounting, it really comes down to what kind of look you want.

I like an 'industrial' look, so I would love to have nuts/rivets shown from the outside so that would be how I fasten the window.

you can also use some U-channel rubber molding.

with glue/silicone you must just check that what you buy, won't maybe eat at the perspex, though I think in most cases it's not very likely to happen.

have seen a guy even use double sided tape.

May have a spare custom cut Perspex window, problem is then your panel cuts will need to be to that size.

I have a earlier this year modded my cm 690 II. i am fortunatley in the signage prinitng industry so had alot of resource at my fingertips but with that said im still a noob at case modding.
if you would like to see some pics of what i did let me know and i can post some up. i am going to change a few things as i will be adding to the mod.
but what iv done might be of use to you.

i am in the same boat they dont sell them any more ...,i was thinking about getting my hands dirty with a electrical grinder,steel frame too mount perspex on inside with black plastic rivets.Frozen cpu sell DIY kits with frame and perspex too size,but you have too import them.Your best bet would be too find a factory with a cnc machine too cut it...View attachment 16546...

I sent mine in to be lasercut.was pretty expensive but im very happy with the outcome. will let them later lasercut in the protoss name between the insignia and the fans.

I ended up just using very thin double sided tape all around the cut space to put on the perspex

nice..finish,but i want a large window,with out the fans...probably going to end up having too use silicone on the inside than run the risk of drilling holes

the top fan is right at the top of the panel against the metal that slides into the case,just something u need to look at and consider when going with a full window

cutting across the fans mounting holes wouldn't that be possible?
