Hey there, I'm looking to get into the IT sector, I'm currently doing the CompTia A+ course on Udemy, i've been a PT previously but due to no work available in that sector, i'd like to get into the IT sector. I'm hoping to work for any business that will allow me to learn on the job, i know a little bit about computers but not on a professional level. Ideally a Durban(Pinetown-Hillcrest) area

Try Amazon, they had a large program they were running recently. Might be worth looking into.

Could you share the link please? ironically enough i was looking earlier at amazon listings but only saw stuff for u.s only

Amazon I believe required you to be at their Cpt Offices for orientation, after which you could work from home.

"Internship" is the key word, internship positions are generally speaking on the job training. However they are typically geared towards fresh graduates so you may need a fairly strong theoretical/academic background while accepting low-ish pay to get in.

If you get a CV/Informal letter together and send it to me, just outlining more or less what you'd like to do, I will see what I can do/spread it.

Send me a PM and I'll throw you my email.

Do you have a working PC currently?

That's fine by me, its an income and experience. can't expect to make big money by being new to the industry

Unfortunately not being involved within a traditional university means you miss out on career fairs held at the university, but if you manage to sneak into a university facebook group or keep an eye out on other social media for companies hosting on-campus recruitment, you can get to meet some hr people to get into an internship program. Universities also have a job portal listing work available, but thats only accessible to enrolled students.
