Hi, so I am looking into alternatives to a petrol generator to power my work from home setup without interruption for 2 hours.

I already have a UPS that powers my router and fibre ONT so that's sorted.

The setup requires the following:
Dell WD19 Dock - 130W
2x Dell S2222H Monitors - 22W ea.

So by deduction I need something that can deliver 180-200W for a period of 2 hours. The catch is that I need 3x 3-prong plugs for these devices and I haven't come across one of these yet.
(Can I use an adapter if it has 1 3-prong? Like this)
It also needs to be uninterrupted obviously.

I don't have a lot of knowledge in this market so any advice would be appreciated.

Important to note is your budget for the backup power device.

I have an Ecoflow Delta 2 and it works like a charm (might be overkill for your needs though).

I am actually fishing for a price range, to see if it will be worth it over a petrol genny in the long run. So can't really say. I would probably be in for north of R10k but that's fine.

Any inverter with a output higher than what you require, with a single 12v 100ah lithium battery would do. (I say lithium for the sake of longevity)

I had a mecer 1kw inverter with a single 12v 100ah lithium battery.... it powered my pc, 2x27 inch monitors, a 32 inch LCD TV, DVR incl Camera PSU for well over 2 hours.... my power draw with everything on just watching a YT video hovers around 300w. I ended up moving to a 200ah for the sake of gaming

Edit: Below are the devices i had.

Inverter: MECER 1200VA W/MPPT INVERTER
Battery: Hubble S-100A 1.2kWh 12V 100Ah Lithium Ion LiFePO4 Battery (FIRST LIFE CELLS) - GeeWiz

(130+22+22)*2=348; assuming the inverter is 80% efficient (and your estimates are correct) you need around 435WH.

This means that the ~500WH-ish options from Gizzu, Ecoflow, Flexopower, Bluetti etc. should work. This may end up being your cheapest solution as these go from about R 8-9k.

But a ~700W 12V inverter with a 100ah lithium battery would do it too (you can probably even get away with a 50ah battery).

You can use a multiplug with any of these the same way you'd use with a normal wall plug.

I have a nice ecoflow max for you. Open box/new. R6500

Also have a Delta, Brand new, 16k

This looks like exactly what you need:

It'll last ~4 hours at 230w and has 4 outlets
Bonus points it uses LiFeP04 batteries so it should last many years of daily use.

Batteries are showing R6,999?
The inverter is within your budget, but its not including a 12V deep cycle battery.

The answer is that it is not possible within a 5k budget, hopefully somebody can prove me wrong on this, but having done some research I believe its more in the 8-10k range and upward

Thanks man I was hoping to find an inverter with a built in battery or somewhat

Apologies for hijacking the thread but some knowledgeable people are present. For a 3080 PC and 1440p monitor. 4 hours loadshedding. I assume a 12V 200ah battery would do the job? 12V 3KW inverter?

Yea I was looking for the same thing, but unfortunately it seems to exceed the 5k budget. Much to both our dismay

If you can measure how much power your PC actually draws under normal load, you can get an accurate figure.

If it uses 3KW consistently on a 12V 200Ah battery you are looking at 1h45min
