If you don't mind me asking, why? The amp is capable of driving MUCH better speakers. The highs are pretty much missing in action as there are no tweeters, the mids are pretty poor, and they're expected to handle lows that they're incapable of (either the crossover frequency which is ALREADY too high needs to be increased, or you need better tweeters). The Z-2200s before it had larger drivers and handled sound a lot better, but you can do better still by not connecting Logitech satellites.

You know, I don't know why, haha. I saw the amp in my garage the other day and didn't really think beyond that.

You're right, though.

Seeing as you took the time to offer your advice, which I really appreciate, are there perhaps any speakers (off the top of your head) that you would recommend me looking into? Or what I should look for?

This is a rabbit hole neither you nor I want to go down, or we'll both be remortgaging the house and splitting the rest across MobiCred and six or seven different credit cards on budget.

What I will instead suggest is try to find a record shop (you do still get them). They're normally packed with 70s-90s record players, amps, etc and... of course... speakers. They normally have a stupid price as well, but they've been sitting there for so long that the owner will borderline pay you to get rid of them. My dad got his entire Pioneer setup including CD player, amp and speakers for less than R 1,000 (and these components will often be marked eg R 3,500 EACH). You can do much better with older cheap/free speakers than the Z-2300s will do. They have a tiny 2.5" driver which honestly would do better in a set of headphones.

I have a set of speakers (can't find ANYTHING about them online - Sony SS-D40) from way back when which honestly blow anything Logitech out of the water. I used to own Logitech's Z-680s a good few years ago, and it's just a different league. Let me put it this way, I consider myself to have been young and dumb to have ever owned the Logitechs.

Having three drivers each (6" for lower frequencies, 2" for midrange and 0.5" for highs) gives them a massive range, and they ooze volume. I have to step away from my desk before taking them above +/- 80% volume (it starts hurting, LOL), and they still have plenty to give. Neighbours a few houses away get introduced to 80s Europop every now and then :p

The best part about them was the price. "Cover courier fees and get them out of my way."

Combine something like that with your sub (these don't handle proper bass at all, I have the crossover frequency at 80 Hz) and you'll wonder why you ever bothered with Logitech :)

If you really want to have some fun, the amp in the Z-2300s is actually not terrible. Surprising, considering the satellites are rubbish and the sub is really all about throwing volume regardless of how muddy it gets. Rip it out, wire up a larger fairly high sensitivity sub (heck you can probably find something dirt cheap on Alibaba or similar) and build a housing for it.

Just look on here or gumtree for a good deal on a pair of bookshelves and hook them up to the sub , sure you can say if you buy new speakers and amp then it will sound better then the logitechs

but seeing as you have them and just to add some bookshelves to get a pretty decent sound system aint bad and that sub can rattle your house with ease

I know Bentley acoustics has some small bookeshelf speakers that aren't to expensive
Bentley Acoustics FR-50 | Bookshelf Stereo Speakers (pair) | South Africa | AudicoOnline.co.za

any decent speaker will sound ok or better then the originals
