Got a Dell Inspiron N5520 recently, 2nd hand from a friend, battery was replaced last year sometime.
Anyway in short, nothing wrong with laptop except the staying on part. Laptop works flawlessly as long as the charger is plugged in, as soon as you remove the charger it dies. The laptop can also run without the battery in, but as long as the charger is plugged in. Does this mean it is definitely the battery at fault as in the BIOS, etc it is showing 100% although this is an aftermarket battery (Astrum Brand). I can get a Dell replacement battery but don't want to spend so much if that won't sort the issue at hand. The battery charge light also doesn't show when plugged in.
Reading online, some people say it could maybe be something with BIOS or something with the motherboard concerning the no charge issue. Does anyone have any experience in this or is this definitely a battery issue?
Thank you
