Intel I5 2500 vs Intel i5 3550 & 3570K upgrade

I might be selling my I5 2500 CPU and plan a upgrade to Ivy Bridge is it worth it, are they faster or should I wait, I run my 2500 at 4.0ghz just using the normal MSI overclocking profiles never changed voltages and so forth
but was doing some reading and saw that the IVy Bridge CPUS run a hot, If i do change I would be interested in either the 3550 or 3570k processor but Im not changing if its going to run over 60 degrees my 2500 runs
at about 40 degrees on my Kuhler 620 with out any issues

no need for ivy bridge for gaming if you have a sandy bridge, in bf3 they give the same fps.

A bit less? I really have no idea, they aren't meant to be run so slowly Honestly, even if you have a Bloomfield chip there's little point upgrading for gaming, but well done to heretic anyway for pointing out that you will get the same FPS in a game that doesn't scale very well on the CPU side...

Not worth upgrading from a 2500k to Ivy bridge.

The average performance increase for ivy bridge 3770k is around 16% compare to a 2500k, so if you compare that to a 3550 or 3570k, at most you will probably get around 5-6%.
