I PERSONALLY did not see the difference between some nice high quality 1080p panels and 1440p panels. You're sacrificing a few frames for a small percentage IN MY OWN OPINION. If I may suggest go to a store nearby that has a 27" 1440p panel . Just give it a look and feel before u take this leap :)

Hello, I have a Rx 6800 xt and with a 1080p panel I am not using the full potential of my GPU. I am using only like 40%-50% of my GPU. In some games I am only getting like 60-70fps on 1080p with Farcry 4. So I was thinking if I have more pixels then it should use more of the GPU VRAM and I will get more frames

Nah that's not the issue in this case 6800xt is a very very powerful modern card. The problem is not the card or the panel. It's the game engine itself. Older titles aren't optimized for newer hardware so the GPU won't even use 100% util in most cases.

So if you had to go try far cry 6 or like AC Valhalla with the newer and upgraded game engines you'll notice it uses your full GPU at 1080p even.

If you're deadset on upgrading go straight for 4K and what you can't run at stable 60 FSR will handle for you but for the most part you should be able to 4k

My suggestion is keep the 1080p for competitive/fps games you play. And wait till Christmas specials and pick up a sweet 4K panel for the fidelity gaming. That way you have the best of both worlds and you can watch 4K movies lol as an added Bonus. Your system should run 4K games well too

I am in the exact same situation as you, with the exact same card.. GPU utilization on 1080p with Warzone 2 is about 75% if I use my friend's 1440p my GPU utilization jumps to 100%.

1080p is more CPU bound and 1440p is more GPU bound.
