I've just switched from AMD to nVidia - did the DDU and all that. Time to install Geforce drivers.

I'm not too worried about bloatware blah blah but obviously I don't want to actively install something I'm not going to use.

I don't stream. I don't use nVidia's recommended game settings. I'd like to be able to record gameplay though; not sure if that's relevant.

So, what is Geforce Experience actually for? Is it worth installing?

It provides driver profiles for certain games which can aid performance. It also tells you when there are driver updates and can even install them automatically for you.

it also provides recording features.

Overall it's worth having. I would just disable the telemetry service.

Personally I stray away from it, it hampers benchmark performance for me and is a nuisance at best for me. But I will admit, if you new to the Nvidia seen it will be helpful as I can see the benefits of using it.

It's nice to have a shortcut and gameplay paths all set and just hit a shortcut.

Saving x period of time of the past minutes is nice, otherwise I have no other use for it. Been using and getting used to OBS for recording when necessary recently.

Experience annoying popups every week to tell you to upgrade your drivers!

You should upgrade your drivers.

Think of it as the petrol gauge in your car.
No, I know my GPU, I can still go for at least 50km! (besides my GTX680 will not benefit from more bloated drivers that only have legacy support for it)
