System had been working flawlessly for the last two years, but suddenly, the system began to throw EDP errors and was voltage throttling itself whenever it came out of a lower C-state idle. As a result, the system clock refuses to multiply higher than 0.78Ghz when under any sort of load, which makes for an extremely sluggish experience.

Doing some preliminary research, this seemed to affect Dell computers of all sorts for the last few years, and followed all troubleshooting instructions as far as possible, which included:

+ Resetting RTC.
+ Enabling / Disabling various Intel Chip features.
+ Booting other distributions on top of Windows to check for driver issues.
+ Downgrading and reflashing firmware (this did not happen immediately following any particular update, it had been months since the last.)
+ Repasting to qualm potential thermal induction on a sensor that could trigger this.
+ Changing RAM.
+ Purchasing a brand new, Genuine™ Dell© power supply to mitigate power delivery or BDPROC errors, this did not work and subsequently returned.

- It should be noted that I've tried my best to mitigate voltage spikes and brownouts to rule it out, the system is double protected by a voltage regular and surge protector unit, runs semi-off grid and is unplugged in severe thunderstorms always. The system has also rarely been pushed hard.

According to some users online, the only final fix was a replacement of the mainboard. I have attempted to contact and get inferred to Dell Support but to no avail, as they did not understand what or why this could be an issue (low utilisation on Task Manager seems good to them and this randomly occurred while on a Linux install, I had a fresh install of Windows done to give them diagnostics but they mostly spent time troubleshooting unrelated things and the operating system itself as the source issue.)

If you would be able to get Dell Support or a third party repair done to it or perhaps figure out a method of undervolting it if not, the system is flawless otherwise. Really great idle power draw with power to scale when needed.

Bump, this is a ONCO sale, should at least be able to cover costs in parts alone and/or take it up with Dell in return for a good deal.
