F1 2024

True that. Newey will basically get his way, as he would like, and will probably have Lawrence's full support, with money not being an issue. So we will likely see a bunch of people poached shortly. I mean who wouldn't want to join that team now, if given the chance. Lets hope its not a Toyota 2.0 :D
This much is true he will be going a massive hiring spree, the only problem now is do they have the drivers for a front running team.

Definitely not in Stroll but Alonso maybe the only thing is he's not a spring chicken anymore so does he still have the pace of his younger self?

Jezzzzzuz the thought of that team with Max/Fernando/Newey and perhaps a more seasoned team principal is scary
Will never happen, have to leave a spot for the windowlicker its the whole reason the team exists

If they have a chance at Max then they would probably let Alonso go and have Stroll be the second driver because lets be honest Max doesn't really need a team mate to win the driver or even the constructors championship.

Alonso is probably just in it for the thicc bag hence his passive takes on stroll , he wanna secure retirement for his whole family tree :?

Perhaps, although the "plan" is for Stroll to win the WDC

Most definitely but that requires Stroll to not take himself out which unfortunately no amount of money can help with.

If he is to have any chance to win a WDC he will need to be in a car a second quicker then everyone else if not more, he wouldn't even be able to win in the 2023 RB.

Oh I don't think he has a hope in hell of ever getting a WDC but the team exists for that goal

First thing Stroll says is Newey to join as shareholder, maybe that was the leverage. He will likely get to design a road car as well, and being a shareholder probably sweetens the deal, and leaves a legacy. Good for him.

Stroll would have to have a car so fast that he is so far in front that he has no chance of crashing with anyone. But then again, he would still be screwed at the start. He would be worse than Lando, bottling the first lap.

Roll on 2025...

They'd have to also nerf his teammates car

I see Hamilton fans have now turned on Newey because of his comments about AD21 saying that Lewis must move on after loosing the title to Max, they just salty because he's not going to Ferrari.

He also mentioned how Sky sports villainizes none British drivers like Max and Seb and that coming from a British person says a lot but everyone knows Sky has a British bias.

I see Boksburgers are still making generalized nonsense statements.

Not sure if Adrian said it but saw a pic which have Adrian in it with the text "I always wanted to work with him (Alonso)"

I would also much rather work with Alonso than dealing with all Lewis's personal issues like BLM , Equity , Fashion , Non alcohol beverages etc.

Maybe there was a chance Adrian wanted to go to Ferrari but when Lewis got signed he changed his mind haha.

Very true. I think in general Ferrari couldn't compete with Aston Martin's offer. He basically has full control, gets shares, and 20mil per year, 30mil per year with bonus. I seem to recall Ferrari wanting him only as a consultant. Unfortunately Newey doesn't work that way, he is all-in, in which case he sees and executes his plans to their fullest extent without hindrance. He has a good relationship with Honda, which will go hand in hand with the new chassis for the 2026 regulations. There is no reason why AM shouldn't improve from 5th to 1st or 2nd in 2026

Cute, the bunny has something to say :ROFLMAO:

I wouldn't be surprised but its probably more related to the package that was being offered by Aston Martin its probably one of the most lucrative deals ever signed in F1 and its for a 65 year old!

Yeah. Just messing with the Lulu fans.

Maybe some teams could offer an equal salary, but Partner and Stakeholder , that is huge and says a lot about what you will mean to the team.

He said in this interview that he's also wanted to work with Alonso and Hamilton.

Part of the reason he went AM instead of Ferrari was the option given him by Stroll - equity and shares in the company. Also the fact that Stroll is like one of the old school in that he's an owner/manager of the team a la Jordan, Frank Williams etc.

Clarkson and Newey are friends and were in school together, so no surprise that Clarkson knew what Newey's plans were.

Apparently Ferrari were not keen on giving Newey so much power, he wanted to have the final say on everything and also want to select his engineers to be part of his team (so expect the AM hiring spree to start now). Ferrari still wanted to be in control and have the final say which Newey wasn't going to agree with.

Baku this weekend. Not many kerbs and mostly slow corners, so maybe a chance for RB to be competitive again, although I guess it is still going to be McLaren and Merc at the front again, will have to wait and see if Ferrari is going to be up there or if it was just the 1-stop strategy that made them look good in Monza.

Not to mention the money he's going to make and that he's a shareholder now, his contract is bigger then 95% of the drivers and Team Principles in F1.

This weekend is going to be interesting wonder if Ferrari or RB have some flexi front wings they will be testing specially considering the nature of the Baku circuit a flexi front wing will come in very handy on the long straights.

And working on non-F1 projects. As he has done with AM before.

When Daddy stroll gonna offer max to sit in the cockpit with donkey stroll to win races
Just realized something. We are watching the $$-spin on "How Much Does it Cost to Become F1 World Champion".

Sure AMF1 does have value as an asset, but damn, it is a money-pit.

Maybe that's what makes having Newey on board so valuable maybe he's main goal is to help make the Aston Martin road cars more appealing and something more people want to buy to possibly compete with Ferrari and Lambo.
