Reason for sale(cont.):
Currently trying to run a passive(ish) build in my pc, got tired of watercooling. In idle, c literally has zero moving parts. No pump, no hdd, no fans turning. At 65c, front fans and gpu fans go on. At 70c, top and back fans go on, as well as cpu tower cooler fan. This setup works great for me....except the card. Ive been loving it to bits, massive piece of brick in my pc, massive 3 slot heatsync. Card takes forever to heat up, but eventually... does. With the passive build the biggest issue is this card having a tdp of 450w. At 350w you can still run the card at stock settings, but its still a hell of a lot of heat for a passive setup. Usually i run the card at either 42% or 56% tdp depending on what i play, as long as i can get at least 70fps im happy. So i dont have a issue with lower fps, but i do have a temp issue. Whatever card i run needs to be as efficient possible, so 40 series is tempting. Guy i know ran benches on his 4080, matches my cards performance at 60% of the power used, and thus much lower temps. Biggest power drain on this card is the 24gb gddr6x. At 40% tdp the card is still at 210mhz on core, but memory is then clocking the usual speeds. So my reasoning, if i can get a lower memory 30-series card or a 40 series card, it will help reduce my temps.
Dont get me wrong, the 3090ti's temps are extremely good if the fans do run. At stock 450w tdp, under constant load with fans at 60%(case and gpu), temps max out at 73c. Obviously higher fan speeds will yield better temps.
Ideally, id want a:
3080, 3080ti, 4070ti, 4080.
But not palit etc. Want a proper quality card, eg asus strix, msi suprimX, msi trio, etc.
So might be open to a trade-in type of deal. Can pm me to discuss.
