Hi all,
So I started off by getting a case for the GF as she wanted to start gaming as well, so bought a CMStorm Enforcer from Jypels, I then bought a meter of pink LED strip off Bid or Buy for a decent price, started to cut it up into pieces for the case and soldering the cables on, connecting molex connectors and then with the last of the left over sleeving from my stuff neatly sleeved the cables.
I also replaced the red LED fans on the 200mm CM fan, that came with the case, to UV (closest thing I could find to Pink or Purple), also changed the LEDs out on my 600T's 200mm extractor fan that I wasn't using, last fan was a bit of a bi-jotch... as the fans were 3mm LEDs and I bought 5mm LEDs as that's the norm.. also no stores I phoned stocked 3mm UV LEDs, but thankfully I had a 120mm VANTEC LED fan left that used 3mm UV LEDs, so I cut them off and soldered them onto the rear 120mm extractor fan.
Also dit some sleeving of the fugly rainbow case connectors which turned out quite nicely.
All that I still need to change is the red power LED, but not sure what I'm going to do as I can't find any 3mm UV LEDs, might possibly just use clear red spray on some spare 3mm blue LEDs and see if they turn purple.
So for the parts list:
CM Storm Enforcer (Thanks to Jypels)
H67MA-E35 (B3) Mobo
Intel Core i3 2120
CM V6 GT Cooler (Thanks to Firestrm)
Inno3D GTX570 OC (Thanks to Jack Bauer)
8GB Kinston HyperX Blu 1600 (Thanks to Inn3rs3lf/Digital Hydra)
500GB Seagate 7200rpm System drive
1TB WD Green 5400rpm Storage drive
Dell 19" Wide LCD monitor
Microsoft X4 KB (Thanks to Inn3rs3lf)
Generic Mouse for now (Need to arrange for a certain TT /BLACK to be sent to me. )
Cooler Master GX750 (Thanks to Jack Bauer)
Think that's about it.
I'm really happy with the end result, machine runs very nicely, Crysis 2 on the hardcore preset is super smooth, 3D Mark 11 score is around P5109 all on stock (pre 3D Mark Update)... in comparison with the 5970 I had to test for Firestrm, it's not too bad, only 600 or so less.
Anyhow, didn't take too many pictures whilst building, but here are some pics (the pics don't really do it justice, it looks much darker in real life, nice deep purble colour. ):
Will upload some more shortly.
