eGPU for Dell Vostro 3500

Hi Everyone,

I was hoping I could get some advice on which eGPUs would be compatible with my Dell Vostro 3500.
I use applications such as Adobe Photoshop. InDesign, Illustrator, Lumion and Sketchup (a RAM upgrade is on the cards too)
Specifications:

• Processor: 11th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-1135G7 @ 2A0GHz, 2419 Mhz, 4 Core(s), 8 Logical Processor(s)
• Installed RAM: 8.00 GB (7.73 GB usable)
• Adapter Description: Intel(R) Iris(R) Xe Graphics
• Adapter RAM: 1.00 GB

If upgrading my graphics card is an option, is it advised to do so?

Hi AFAIK eGPUs use a thunderbolt connection, and the Vostro 3500 doesn't have a thunderbolt connection. Therefore i doubt you'll be able to use a eGPU with your machine.

Installed RAM: 8.00 GB (7.73 GB usable)

So I have no experience at all in the applications you're using, but upgrading to 2 x 8gb's of RAM(fastest speed your dell supports) should make a difference.
It should allow the GPU up to about 7.9gb of Usable RAM, which (again I have no experience in the applications you're using) may help until you upgrade to better machine.
Also, I suspect you only have 1 stick of RAM in the laptop and going to 2 sticks will let you run in Dual Channel, which will definately help.

Not possible on this laptop.
