Anyone playing this? I'm at home for this week so I'm keen to start up a club and do a few stages.
I'm not great at the game or anything, I'd say slightly above beginner level

I’d like to give it a go but I only have a formula style wheel. I’m planning to get a round wheel soon. I’ll start doing the rally thing after that.

I watched a few videos when I saw this thread. Honestly speaking, none of the reviewers can drive with any wheel. It's laughable to watch.
I've played Rally Games since Colin Mcrae days, through the Dirt Series and some WRC games as well. I also had a wheel, but drive 10 times better with a normal keyboard.

Yeah I'd say round wheel is a necessity for this, tbh though it plays decent with a controller. I know I know, wheels are the best. . .

I get major stutter on certain locations like Japan. Codemasters noted it as an issue and I check it out after every few patches but no improvements yet, still not enjoyable for me.

Not even close to how smooth F1 is, which is a shame as the handling is quite nice.

I tried playing a few games with the controller on my PS5 and I’m useless. Some people are crazy fast with it and even compete in WOR but I can only find pace with a wheel and pedals. With F1 2023, there’s very little difference between good wheel drivers and controller drivers.

On iRacing and Assetto Corsa Competizione however, the difference can be huge. Generally speaking, with proper racing sims, the biggest gains can be first found in brakes eg. Moving from potentiometer based pedal to to a pressure based pedal.

After that, you’ll find incremental improvements from getting a better wheelbase and more detailed forcefeedback.

On games that caters from the ground up for controllers, you can have a good experience regardless of what your preference is.

Been running smooth for me since the last patch, and your system is beefier than mine albeit you have a 4k screen and I'm on ultrawide

Playing the trial now and it's great fun. But yeah getting stutters even at 1080p with a 10400/3060Ti/NVMe SSD. I wonder if there is a solution somewhere or if it's just UE being its unoptimised self.

I'm really liking the "Moments," great feature for a quick 15-minute pick-up-and-play that I feel has been lacking from some recent casual racing games.

I miss the impulse triggers though that Forza has, that little extra bit of feedback in the triggers on throttle/braking really makes a difference.

Sound design is a real highlight.

Exactly the same annoying issue I face, around 13:05. Glad Digital Foundry highlighted it.
