is there another crypto exchange out there that us south africans dont have to depend on for like luno? I find luno astronomically expensive and their service is horrendous.

I hear binance is the another exchange one can make bank transfers straight from FNB... new to the crypto buying market and just trying to find my feet in regards to seeking alternatives that have better options and services.

Altcointrader.

Valr is good, there's also Ovex. Binance is failing USD deposits and Visa card purchases for me, I've given up trying to give them money.

+1 for Valr. They actually pay you a small fee if you're doing maker transaction. I find Binance is a pain. They've stopped direct deposits, so you have to either to BTC or USDC transfers, for which you need another exchange anyway.

coinbase been working fine for me

I have done exactly 11 withdrawals from Altcointrader and as far as I'm concerned the best.Something else I could mention is they also have a call center which answers calls within minutes.I tried calling Luno before and they don't have a call center.

So im going to jump on here and say i gave OVEX a try. What a nuisance.

Their wallet shows you can store Polygon, Terra and AR with them but you actually cant purchase these coins with them, you need to link to their investor FTX (who have their own issues from reviews i've read) and do this and that and then eventually hold coins with FTX. Lame.

So i wouldn't recommend them. Their online chat service "Justine" failed to even respond after the Bot didnt help and the one thing i'll give them is their email support is decent, but its straight text replies. No email signature. Nothing.

The site doesnt explain anywhere about purchasing other coins.

Im sticking to VALR, Altc, Revix, Luno and Coinbase.

Just my 2c rant.

thanks guys! I have been using VALR, they quick and cheap the only issue regarding them is if they assets they have to sell and they dont support that blockchain you have to pay a hefty price... eg MATIC, so if you buy 50 MATIC or 150 MATIC you will have to pay a once off withdrawl fee of 20 MATIC. but than again buying USDC and withdrawing it would only cost 1 USDC always!! vs LUNO where one would be charged anywhere from the price of $25 to $140 due to traffic congestion on the ERC20 blockchain congestion.

I started with Crypto.com last year. Seems to be fine. But you still need to transfer coins to Luno to get it back into your bank account.

You can buy a EC10 token on Easy Equities. The EC10 token is based off the top 10 performing cryptos. If you want to get into crytpo and spread your risk that is one way you can do it, I know Revix also has a solution like this for layer 1 coins (solana ect..)

Why did I not hear about FTX until now?

They not so pupilar with Saffas? In any case, safest thing to do is to keep your crypto in a wallet-FTX was considered one of the most reliable exchanges in the world and look how they turned out...

They stole a fair amount of my BTC and other coin.
Disgusting what happened with FTX ,SBF is a cunt of the highest order hopefully they throw the book at him and the American government starts regulating their Crypto exchanges to avoid these scenarios in the future

They were in the news last week. Where have you been.

Last week = now in the grand scheme of things. The oracle tells me I've been exactly where I needed to be.

Apparently not. Why was it considered safe? Seems like they came out of nowhere, Binance has been around longer hasn't it?

If you’re looking for crypto exchanges besides Luno, I recently tried out Online Crypto Exchange Platform with the Best Rates | StealthEX.io and had a great experience. I was initially hesitant about switching, but their user-friendly interface made it super easy to trade.

One time, I needed to quickly exchange some funds for a project, and their instant conversion feature saved me a lot of time. I appreciated that I could compare rates right there, which helped me get the best deal. Plus, their support team was responsive when I had questions. It’s nice to find an exchange that feels reliable and straightforward.

My top picks would be Binance or Luno . Luno are relatively faster . I withdrew like 220k in a single transaction and it cleared in 20 minutes (R20 immediate fee) using their instant withdrawal option. Binance you tend to wait 1-3 business days

I think if you looking for something like Luno, then Valr is the next best thing one of the foinders was a former CEO for FNB and thats where I hold my Doge
