Please note one of the modules are not working so ive been using it as 8 gb (2x4gb). Ive contacted corsair they said the warranty with them still holds but the item will have to be shipped to them in america. Inever had the time and chance to and now dont need it anymore

i stand to correction but doesnt the ram only work in pairs ? a 4th ram card would render the 3rd useful ?

No, depends on your system and how it works. The 1366 chipset has triple channel so it uses 3 sticks at a time. Other systems use two or 4 sticks at a time.
 
thanks ian. on my previous board when all three modules were working it worked in tri channel as 12gb when the one got damaged i just unplugged it and it worked as dual channel so it matters on the mobo
