Hi all

Does anyone know how to define coolbits 8 on POP OS 20.04 LTS?

I want to be able to overclock my 3060 Ti in Linux and I can’t for the life of me seem to find the Coolbits setting.

I’m using Green With Envy to do the overclocking and it says Coolbits 8 needs to be defined to enable frequency settings.

System: AMD 3300X, 16gigs Ballistix Rev E., X570 Tomahawk

Will post what I’ve tried

Fixed: Had to create /etc/X11/xorg.conf

The latest drivers don't automatically create the xorg.conf file.

Sudo nvidia-xconfig --enable-all-gpus

Add Option "Coolbits" "8" to the device section of the file

Section "Device"
Identifier "Device0"
Driver "nvidia"
VendorName "NVIDIA Corporation"
BoardName "GeForce GTX 1070"
Option "Coolbits" "8"

I was editing /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/20-nvidia.conf and 10-nvidia.conf trying to get Coolbits to work from that and it wasn't sticking.
