Hey guys, i need some help....my one Club 3D HD5870's fan is packing up, or just making a noise on start-up..its a reference card as well. Now if it was an Asus i couldve taken the card to them and get it sorted, but its not, does anyone know where I can take it to, or get a new reference style fan that will fit the Club 3D ?
Will Asus fix it for me at a price ?

Thanks :)

Good luck with that one... My HD 5970 fan also packed up not too long ago and the only replacement I could find was buying a cooler from someone that replaced their stock with an after market cooler... The only other way is to import the fans. I have seen some of then on ebay.

You could always strip the cooler and fan and just re-apply some machine oil to the fan? That usually keeps it happy.

Yeah that might work, because it only makes a noise on start-up...as if it needs to "warm up", ill open it up, clean it properly and lube it up to see if it works :)

Don't just use any oil, machine oil is best. The startup noise you are hearing is the fan "dry" starting, not enough oil on the bearing which is causing the whine.

Aah ok that makes sense :) shweet thanks for the help! I appreciate it :)

Senshi Is spot on i have recovered many a fan this way

i have a complete cooler for you if you interestes

One or 2 coolers? ive got 2 x 5870's in crossfire :)

haha ill make sure NOT to use Q20 ;) so the machine oil wont damage any electrical stuff if it gets on it?

Ok sick :) I've never opened a gpu so that's why I'm asking all these questions :)

lol @ dA_k1D... he said is a "reference" cooler, aka stock cooler.
