Hi All,

Looking at doing some long overdue cable management on my PC setup. I will put relevant details below as well as a full pc spec list if needed at the end. Thanks in advance and let me know if there are any more details you all might like.

Currently I have the following situation:
  • Busy desk roughly 1.5m by 0.75m surface area with 2 cable holes on each side
  • Tower currently sitting on left side of desk with 2 27inch monitors (Center and right side of desk, right side being mounted on a movable arm)
  • Room gets very dusty quickly
  • Potentially looking at another monitor to mount either to the left or above main centre screen
I'm looking for recommendations or advice on the following upgrades that I think I need to cleanup my desk:
  • Tower placement (Keeping tower on desk for dust/temperature purposes vs floor either under or next to desk)
  • Good quality cables:
    • DP to DP 3m-5m length (Main screen 1440p 165hz)
    • HDMI to HDMI 3m-5m length (Main screen alternate for work 1440p 165hz, Second screen 1080p 75hz)
    • USB type A to USB C charging cables 1m-3m length
    • USB hub?
  • Under-desk cable management/holder
  • Cable sleeves
  • Kettle cord 3m-5m extensions for Monitors and PC
  • Surge-protector multiplugs (Looking for around 5 plug points with 2-pin slots as well)
  • Monitor mounts (I prefer a centre screen with additional monitors surrounding it)

I got a cable tray from these guys: Under Desk Cable Basket | Johannesburg | Cape Town | Durban
Good service, maybe a lil slow but they do deliver.
I got the raw and just give it a couple coats of Rustoleum mat black.

Lindy cables are good, run all my monitors on their cables. Sometimes hard to find but the Dell ones are also good, if you can find.

As for USB hubs, have a look at the Orico line, they good but all depends on what you want.
There are some great looking ones on Aliexpress which can do 10gbps

As for power cables, have a look at link https://www.linkqage.com/ - They might even have sleeving swap.

I was thinking of going the same for mine but decided again against it just because i didn't like the look of it.

Multiplug go for an Ellies, because they are good: Ellies Electronics Multiplug 12 Way High Surge Protected

For monitor mounts i can whole heartedly recommend North Bayou: Monitor Desk Mounts Archives - North Bayou
I have 2 of their 32' mounts and i have 2 x 24" on one of them so they can handle the weight. Also look on TA for the mounts as sometimes they are cheaper.

Hope that helps.
