Good day ladies and gents,

On Black Friday I'm looking to build myself a brand new gaming rig, I've spent hours looking for the best and cheapest components, but they're still above my budget, hopefully black friday will fix that, but just in case I'm collecting the prices of components and their online locations. I'm looking to get 144 fps on a 1080p 144hz monitor on quite a few titles like Control, Warzone, RE3 Remake, GTAV etc. Please help me reduce the prices by more, and more importantly, help me find a reason not to buy from Scamtech, but their prices save me tons. My budget is R29 000 delivery included (Was R30 000 without the HDD I bought)

Resellers welcome if you're willing to wait until BF, just note I'm looking for new components only, or MAX 6 months old with POP and warranty.

Monitor:
Dell 24inch 144hz TN panel - R3666
(Might get the Xceed 24 inch if Checkers drop it back to R1999)

CPU:
Intel I5 10600kf - R4360
AMD 3600 - R4199
- Sorted AMD 3600 bought for R3800

CPU Cooler:
Antec A400 - R549
Takealot has the CM Hyper 212 Evo for R375, but it's out of stock, so don't know if they'll get stock and then update the price.
Not sure if it's enough to cool a little bit of OC on the 10600kf? Let me know.

Stock AMD Cooler

RAM:
Vulcan Z 2x8GB 3200mhz 16CL - R1349

Motherboard:
Intel - LGA1200 slot - ASUS PRIME Z490-P - R2800 Got an AMD CPU
AMD - No idea - Gigabyte B550m S2h - R1723
Looking for a 2 slot or 4 slot motherboard that supports 3200mhz+ RAM

SSD/HDD
HDD - Sorted WD Green 2tb
SDD - TG GX2 500gb - R1099 - Sorted Kingmax 480gb

PSU:
Gamdias Kratos N1 750w 80+ Bronze - R1199
I swear I saw somewhere a gold rated 750w for R1099, but I can't find it again, was probably a sale.

PSU - Sorted EVGA G2 Supernova 850w

Gaming chair:
Gamdias Zelus E1 - R2499

Computer Case:
Raidmax Blazar Black - R446 - Saved about R800 from what I've bought, so I'll look at an upgraded case

Graphics card:
3070 (R14 499 on scamtech) or RX 6700XT - Waiting patiently.

First off, skip the "gaming chair" - rather get the best components you can now and get a chair later.

Also, the PSU should be a quality unit - I don't know anyone who has ever used a Gamdias, but that's one component I definitely wouldn't skimp on. You also don't need 750W. Rather get something like this Super Flower SF-600P14MS Silver ECO 600W 80 Plus Silver Fully Modular Black Desktop Power Supply - Wootware

I would spend extra on a decent case with decent airflow, otherwise you will be fighting temps regardless of your CPU cooler.

Mostly though, I would wait until Ryzen 5000 and Radeon 6000 are released. Either they'll be worth the money, or they'll force intel to drop prices. Either way you will save.

I can get away with a 600w? According to Nvidia you need at least a 650w for the 3070 on an i5, then more to OC the 10600kf.

I was looking to skip on the gaming chair, but my chair is kind of F'ed and my back will thank me for an "upgrade". The 2 most important things to buy is a new monitor and a chair. My monitor is starting to have a portion that displays colors differently.

Will look at reviews of the Blazar case on airflow, but based on the dimensions it's quite spacious. How about the Raidmax Vortex V5? It looks like it has air intake on the front. I also don't mind a full mesh case with the dimensions to support the cpu cooler and gpu, but can't find one cheap.

I can't speak for other suppliers/retailers, but I wouldn't count on Black Friday specials this year. Given how short stock is at the moment, it will be unlikely you'll see some of the newer/high-end stuff on sale. It'll most likely only be older stuff that retailers and suppliers try flush

Going by the above, if you're looking at a 3070 and the new AMD line, you're going to need to preorder when it all gets listed, we've already got a waiting list on our end for these so I imagine there'll be a shortage here as well. Very unlikely these will be on special

As @UrBaN mentioned, it's worth hanging on though if you're buying new. This happened with the RTX 2060 around the time the RX 5700 XT came out. Starts a price war. On the flip side, the exchange rate could explode, AMD also has shortages, and everything goes up.

I strongly agree with the part about dropping the chair, and spending the extra on the case, PSU, and cooler. Case and PSU will outlive everything else, so investing in something decent now will save a lot of heartache and money down the line. The Hyper 212 series is great, but as mentioned, getting a case with good airflow will make a big difference

You're welcome to pop me an email if you'd like me to quote on a few items

Might look at the new AMD 5600, but HUGE doubt with import costs it will be cheaper than R4360.
Where do you see that?
That's a very good price. But if that retailer has a 3600 for a similar ROE then I would rather go for that. notonly is it a cheaper cpu but the accompanying motherboards are cheaper (b450 not b550) and the cooling requirements are lower/free as it has lower power draw and comes with a cooler that doesn't sound like a jet engine.
Yes the 3600 has slightly lower performance but the total cost it saves off of your entire build is significant.
I personally wouldn't wait for the 5600 as it is rumoured to come out early next year.

Put the money you save from above into a decent case and psu.
Then.
do
not
buy
a
3070
for
15k.
It is $500 and has no business being that expensive. The 3070 will also probably be overkill for 1080p.

Lastly, I would highly encourage you to consider buying used hardware on this forum. The performance from last gen hardware isn't cutting edge but the price to performance is exponentially better in some cases.

Sigh, I think I'll then look at downgrading some of the components and settle for less than 144fps :(. Gaming in SA is K%& expensive. Like 60% higher than the US?

Anyway, I had the 10600kf saved in my sheet for TechFox, but I see he updated the prices to R4469 and it is out of stock, that or I incorrectly listed it, will have to check again if I saw it cheaper elsewhere.

If you can get a G-sync compatible monitor, 144FPS becomes less of an issue.

Aye, stock is very tight and moves fast I'm afraid. Price gets calculated according to new batches coming in by suppliers, and demand generally means prices take a knock

Mobo - Gigabyte B450 Aorus Elite - R 2 172

CPU - AMD Ryzen 5 3600 - R 4 199

EDIT -- The 3600 comes with a cooler too so you can remove the CPU cooler from your list :)

GPU - a 3070 will almost certainly be overkill for 1080p 144Hz. You can save some randelas and get a 1080Ti or a 2070 Super (or a 3060? Radeon 6600XT???? Who knows, best to wait a little while).

Chair - Redline ERGO 1000 - R 2 295 (inc. VAT) - Cheaper and likely to last longer with better ergonomics than the Gamdias. I've bought from Redline before and their chairs are good value for money.

Thanks for the suggestions, I'll keep the CPU/Mobo in mind. With regards to chairs, I like head support too when playing games with my controller or watching movies, so that ergo 1000 won't do, thanks though.
I am also 180cm 120kg, so something that can support my weight, this is basically at the max weight for many chairs, that's why the gamdias is appealing with its 200kg weight limit.

I updated the main post. Got a few parts and added AMD 3600 and MOBO.
Unless I see some super good deals, I'm getting the rest on Black Friday or Cyber Monday.
