As per the subject, I am looking at doing photography and videos of cars for marketing purposes and was looking at the DJI Osmo for videos, but which smartphone would be best?
I was looking at the Samsung S24 Ultra and the IPhone 15 pro max.

Any suggestions?

It needs to have excellent video and photo quality, the rest I dont care about.

The Samsung S24 Ultra takes really good pics which are a bit more saturated by default but it can’t compete with the iPhone 15/16 Pro Max for video quality.

You can shoot directly in ProRes and log with the iPhone so the sky is the limit for colour grading afterwards. The stabilisation is also better on the iPhone so if you’re looking for the best all-rounder, then the iPhone would be my pick.

Edit: Just be sure to get more internal storage if you can afford it or, alternatively, get an external SSD which you can record to via USB-C directly

Whats makes it better than the Samsung? Are there any other phones you can recommend that might even be better than IPhone?

I agree, even though I despise Apple, they do their multimedia well, their screens, colour reproduction, and colour capturing of their devices are amazing.

My vote is iPhone.

Thanks all for the feedback.
Other than just that, are there any other equipment that one can use, ie. the selfie stick on the back of the car to capture the sound and video from behind?

Light ring

You can't ever have enough light

Light rings are not good for lighting. It's typical tiktok-tier advice.

Phones will never match an entry-level mirrorless camera where you can change lenses.

Phones do tons of post-processing, and even if they can output raw, there's so many compromises with it - it just doesn't make sense for the price. You will never get real bokeh/DoF on a phone. You will never be able to control the lighting exactly how you want on a phone. You will never get good colour accuracy on a phone. You will never be able to use blackmagic (or any real) filters on a phone.

At the end of the day, photography is capturing and manipulating the light how you want it. Not how Apple/Samsung process it.

If you just want social media/tiktok-tier videos, then knock yourself out. But if you want something decent, then consider an entry-level mirrorless setup.

light ring better than nothing

iPhone very likely beats out the competition on video. The stabilisation isn't matched at all. However if you're talking stills then I think the Pixel maintains the look of what you have actually photographed.
