Who is the RX 6600 for?

Very fun little GPU, does its job and does it well, highly energy efficient, so when running off backup power this one is great, this is the NON-XT version, I specifically wanted this one because it features better power efficiency than the slightly hotter cousin, I think the XT gives you a few frames extra but IMO running off backup power I'm rather looking at overall power draw (If you have a backup battery/trolley, you know every freaking Watt matters, lol!), recommended for all 1080p gaming, lots of titles you can play in 1440p without issue, of course, but I got the feeling this card was aligned to do 1080p in new AAA titles and do 1080p REALLY well. New titles and old, you won't struggle with this one. I honestly think we are hitting the End Game stage with 1080p gaming GPU wise, these cards do incredibly well at this resolution given the low power draw.

The sad thing is, many of these new, energy efficient and honestly, kickass 1080p centric GPUs get a lot of negative press because little Timmy's mom buys him a moerse 4k monitor, and the poor 6600 can't keep up with the insane requirements in resolution, so now the card is deemed "trash", meanwhile, back at the ranch, this thing will melt faces at high refresh 1080p because these cards are purebred, hugely efficient, 1080p slayers, think that's something worth noting.

I have a 1440p monitor so upgraded to the 4070, cost about R13k, so yeah, going up in native resolution means going up in cost in a hell of a way, not to mention power, the 4070 is a pig compared to this one, will be missed. The cost involved in getting what the 6600 does to 1080p at 1440p is huge, and in hindsight, not worth more than double the expense (new prices), in my opinion.

What this RX 6600 does at 1080p is more impressive to me than what my overpriced RTX 4070 does at 1440p when accounting power draw and performance.

So if you have a nice high refresh, freesync 1080p monitor, you'll love this card, it'll sing, if you've got a 1440p monitor, you'll have to play around with settings, but for your staple games like Dota 2, CSGO etc, this card will not struggle one bit in 1440p native and all settings maxed out, just don't go firing up Hell Let Loose, Squad, Warzone, or anything really heavy duty at 1440p native and expect 4070 performance at max settings!
