This is how these free codes work.
Same goes for amd. Bought a AMD card which then required said card in my system with drivers before I could go to the amd rewards site to redeem the code for the games.

Thanks for the feedback. Did you try redeem it with a 10 series card and it refused?


I assume if you have a 20 series installed, once it's redeemed you can remove the card? Quite a hassle though.

GeForce Experience has a hardware verification step built in now.
So the key won't activate on a pc that doesn't have a 2xxx card installed.

Mmm, this seems like an option. Will need to have the card installed in my PC and logged into Steam with your account though. Waiting on the 2080...
