Hi all, hope you are doing well!

I want to start my Cyber Security career. I'm thinking of doing the following CompTIA certifications, A+; N+; Security+; Data+; Cloud+, and CySA+. I'm already enrolled in a Python course.

Will I be able to get an entry-level job with these certifications? Anything I should add or anything I should leave out?

Any advice would be highly appreciated since I am still new to this. Thanks!

Hey, to be honest this is a hard question to answer without saying it depends. The importance and relevance that companies put on specific certificates differ quite a bit. The certs won't be useless and will get you a foot in the door, but whether all of them are worth their cost is another discussion. (I don't personally like CompTIA due to their business practices, but know N+ & Security+ have decent content)

Another thing to consider is which area you want to go into blue/red team.
If red team, one thing I would recommend is looking at internships, know MWR is running one in June/July, Orange cyberdefence and Telspace typically run one yearly starting beginning of the year. (I can send you the link for MWR's one, not sure if I'm allowed to post links on here)
Regarding blue team, I'm not really familiar enough with its recruiting side to speak about it, would recommend you could ask on Hack South.

Furthermore, I would recommend getting involved in the community, I've seen more companies look at that as well lately. There are community run conferences such as BSides Cape Town and 0xcon in SA. There is also a few 0xCOFFEE monthly meetups where we just chat about cybersec stuff and what we learned that last while, sometimes they also have a presentation. There is also monthly hackthebox (virtual) meetups that are run on HackSouth, recommend checking those out if that interest you. And lastly I need to mention the Hack South discord community which is an excellent place to come ask questions and learn.

If you have any other questions feel free to dm me as well.

@Megladon Thanks so much for the feedback, I really appreciate it. I'm very much interested in blie team. I'll be sure to join the communities you mentioned :). Thanks again!
