first off, the following applies to all items:
  • Payment Method Accepted: prefer EFT
  • Location:: Howick, KZN
  • Shipping: sure, can do
  • Collection: if you're nearby, awesome

  • Item: VolcanoX Asista Headphones
  • Age: 2 months
  • Price: R400
  • Warranty: yes, remainder of 12 months
  • Warranty Holder: Takealot
  • Packaging: original
  • Condition: new, still sealed
  • Reason: bought 2 in a recent sale, one for me and one for a friend.. she likes them, I don't. never bothered to open the second box.
  • Link: Takealot
  • Photos: Carbonite - VolkanoX Asista

  • Item: TP-Link TD-W8970 802.11n ADSL2+ Router
  • Age: 8-odd years, I think.
  • Price: R500
  • Warranty: nope..
  • Packaging: all original, with all original goodies..
  • Condition: mint, out of the sun while in use, in it's box ever since.
  • Reason: got a Huawei WiFi6 router with my fiber upgrade..
  • Link: 300Mbps Wireless N Gigabit ADSL2+ Modem Router (not listed on the "ZA" location website, not sure why..)
  • Photos: Carbonite - TP-Link TD-W8970

  • Item: 3DConnexion SpaceNavigator
  • NOTE: the rubber grip has gone tacky, same issue that has plagued all of their products forever... search Reddit for tips on how to sort that out, otherwise I'll just do that and sell it for more...
  • Age: 4 or 5 years..
  • Price: R1500
  • Warranty: nada..
  • Packaging: yup, all original..
  • Condition: functionally perfect, tacky rubber grip though..
  • Reason: bought it as a surprise gift for a friend who works a lot in CAD, but he felt more comfortable with his Logitech track-ball..
  • Link: (can't find official product page. sorry...)
  • Photos: Carbonite - 3DConnexion SpaceNavigator

  • Item: Logitech G700s
  • Age: not sure, I bought it refurbished about 6 years back.
  • Price: R500-ish..?
  • Warranty: zilch..
  • Packaging: original, though one corner is slightly damaged (dumbass "friend" didn't know the front of the box is a flap)
  • Condition: pretty darn good, battery life is degraded, clickers are still good, scroll wheel is still spins freely..
  • Reason: either you use it, or it sits as an ornament on my shelf..
  • Link: (Logitech removed that page long ago)
  • Photos: Carbonite - Logitech G700s

  • Item: Zalman Fan Controller
  • Age: 7 or 8 years..
  • Price: R300
  • Warranty: nuh-uh..
  • Packaging: yes, original..
  • Condition: like new, with all original dials and cables.
  • Reason: I haven't had a desktop PC for years, won't have for a few more years yet...
  • Link: (can't find this one, those only seem different..?)
  • Photos: Carbonite - Zalman Fan Controller (card reader not included, it's just playing a supporting role here)

  • Item: HTC One (M9) Cellphone
  • NOTE: this comes with a Kidigi charging dock, as seen on TV.. I mean in the Google Photos album..
  • Age: ooh.. 9 years? I got it a few months after release...
  • Price: R500 (...or you can get the refurbished one for R8739 from Ubuy. lol)
  • Warranty: not since it was 2 months old (unlocked bootloader, I kept swapping custom Android ROMs for a few years)
  • Packaging: mostly original, got the box, but the charger and earphones are gone.
  • Condition: actually pretty good.... considering it's been to Thailand.. and Dubai.. and (briefly) Ethiopia.. the camera sensor makes everything super green, sometimes purple (hardware issue).. battery lasts about a day, if you don't use it much.. I think I upgraded it Android 7 or 8 ultimately? way beyond what HTC themselves did.
  • Reason: I figure somebody out there could have some fun with it..
  • Link: HTC One - Full phone specifications
  • Photos: Carbonite - HTC One M9

  • Item: Hisense T5 Plus
  • Age: unknown.. honestly.
  • Price: R300
  • Warranty: narp..
  • Packaging: original, but the charger is gone.
  • Condition: semi-decent, battery isn't the worst, but it's on it's second charging port and it's connection is a little funky.. it comes with two nice completely unused nice shiny back covers though! :p
  • Reason: it's taking up too much damn space.....
  • Link: https://www.gizmochina.com/product/hisense-t5-plus/ (it's not on GSMArena? huh.. slackers....)
  • Photos: Carbonite - Hisense T5 Plus

  • Item: various video adapters:
    • J5Create (JDA156) miniDP to Dual HDMI - R400
    • Unbranded miniDP to single HDMI - R200 (this is unbranded, but it looks and feels just as sturdy as any J5Create product..)
    • NXTech USB-C to Dual HDMI and USB-A - R250 (bought brand new from Takealot back in May, sounds like it has a loose piece of plastic inside, still works perfectly - if your laptop has "Display Port Alternate Host" support...)
    • Manhattan HDMI to VGA - R50 (requires additional power through micro USB, at least 5V 1A - standard USB will handle it)
    • Unbranded DP to HDMI - R50 (and yes, the DP safety clip sprint still works perfectly..)
  • Age: most are about 6 or 7 years at least
  • Warranty: not anymore.. except maybe the NXTech.
  • Packaging: original for the J5Create and NXTech, not the rest..
  • Condition: all perfectly functional, albeit a little dusty..
  • Reason: some are from old PC builds, some were bought by mistake, some didn't fill the void in my soul that I hoped they would..
  • Link: (meh.. just see the photos, it's easier for everyone)
  • Photos: Carbonite - Various Video Adapters
