OP, do you have a more clear budget in mind for us to be able to assist with, as well as usage case for vehicle and timeline forward?
I also eyed the Toyota 86 for a while... There was even one selling on carb. Colleagues told me its rubbish, but I would still consider it one day. After witnessing someone being mugged in a low sport car at a red light two cars in front of me on my way home one night, I decided it best to get something that could jump the curb if ever need be.The budget was around R200k.
Wife wants the ford fusion, I did as much research as possible on it.
It's got a normal torque converter (what ever that means) auto gear box which after a few hours of research told me that the 2.0 ecoboost engines on the fusion didn't get the powershift boxes.
It's also a cam chain, not a belt. Something my father made me aware of that could have been problematic if it was a belt and I wasn't aware.
Soooo she's getting a white 2015 ford fusion trend 2.0 ecoboost with 75 000km on it.
Funnily enough she chose that over a little blue Citroen DS3(also automatic) with 27 000kms which was less money.
Ultimately it's her car as I ride a bike every day, the use case for the car would be getting her to work and back, going to friends, shopping and stuff like that.
If everything goes smoothly we'll be picking the car up in Howick on Saturday and driving it back on Sunday and hopefully we don't break down.
My choice would have been a Toyota 86, There were a couple at the R200k mark.
I would say go for E90 320D M47.

Is it a private sale? Or WeBuyCars?
My understanding was the Ford Fusion has a massive boot with plenty of packing space for those holiday trips etc.
