SUITABLE CANDIDATES:​

The Level 1 Technical Support position is a nice position with us as it facilitates growth if the candidate proves themselves capable in the position.

In short, we are looking for someone with a CompTIA A+ and N+ along with a Driver’s License and a finger on the pulse of the tech out there. We are looking for a younger, passionate candidate starting out their IT career that needs a foot in the door with an established company. (The more experienced candidates are also welcome to apply)

It is really important to note that in the service industry we are in we need someone who is fluent in English and can from an engaging, meaningful conversation with customers and co-workers)

Any Microsoft certifications in addition to this will be an advantage and ideal for us.

POSITION DETAILS:​

POSITION TITLEIT Technician (Level 1 Technical Support)
LOCATION1x Onsite Position Available (Durban)
ATTENDANCEFull time, normal office hours. (8am – 5pm) Currently the company works on a rotational schedule due to Covid19 restrictions to also accommodate staff.
EXPECTED REMUNERATIONThe remuneration will be experience and qualification dependent.

PURPOSE:​

In the capacity of IT Technician the role requires skilled technical support for customers in a highly visible role. Based on the information provided in the support tickets the IT Technician will either accept and resolve the ticket, or identify it for escalation to the relevant team for resolution. In addition, the candidate will assist with the sales cycle where required.

The primary objective of the role is to provide first time resolution. This will be achieved by troubleshooting, diagnosing and resolving faults at the first point of contact or providing the ground work for escalating the fault to the designated escalation point to further investigate and resolve.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND/OR ABILITIES REQUIRED​

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
  • A good understanding of PC software and hardware troubleshooting.
  • Must be presentable, and able to communicate advanced issues to non-technical people.

EDUCATIONAL/VOCATIONAL/PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE​

  • Grade 12 Senior Certificate
  • Current A+ and N+ or equivalent Certification
  • Microsoft Certifications (Systems Administration, Azure etc)
  • Industry relevant Experience in email/phone/onsite troubleshooting will be an advantage.

Could you advise of the salary range? Seems unusual that its "The remuneration will be experience and qualification dependent"
