OK, from tomshardware: The X has a upgraded fan and they changed the fins some on the cooler to give it a little better cooling with a longer lasting fan. Besides the fan the difference in cooling will be very little I would just get whichever is cheaper.

I just picked up a i7-7700K from a Carb user, but need to find a CPU cooler for it. I don't plan to OC at all, and liquid cooling is a bit out of my budget I think. What would you recommend? Looking to buy new from a retailer. Preferably doesn't sound like a Boeing taking off. Many thanks :D
