The sad reality is that only -some- of the software is affected. I have purchased some of the keys in my personal capacity and some of my close friends have as well and *touch wood* so far they have not had any issues even with multiple reloads.

Heya, there are rumours saying Win 8/8.1 Pro users will get a free upgrade but it's not been confirmed. Other than the above, there are other reasons such as a different (and in my opinion) nicer GUI, DirectX 11.1 and 11.2 etc.
