I only tested that the card was working, did not test for temps etc.

there's possibly a design issue in the GPU causing temps to spike, or we are hitting limits on how small we can make transistors and have decent temperatures. There are a lot of XTX cards having this hotspot issue.

I have seen alot of online threads about the cooler working better in horizontal than vertical mount, but I have a waterblock installed so it has nothing to do with the cooler at this point. Card is vertical mounted though. Changing orientation will be a nightmare with hard tubing :(

Yeah, I heard not so great things about Evetech but thought it good to ask. It does throttle down from what I have seen the card do. Runs around 2500MHz instead of 3000. AMD's clocks tend to fluctuate a lot but I expect an average close to 3000.
