True but are they? Most are only run for a couple of seconds or minutes at most. That imho is not an idea of 24/7 performance and even more so with Turbo. I'll wait for the boinc results to come in.

Question
How does Turbo Boost and Turbo Core skew these benchmark results?
From what I understand Turbo Boost scales back with heating over time. Turbo Core seems more geared to consistent performance. If that is so then Sandy Bridge is more like a cheetah and Bulldozer more like a leopard...
Only rumours at the moment. Windows 8 will have specific support but don't expect 40%. Perhaps up to 40% when under heavy load but even that sounds a little ambitious.
Mostly yes.
I'm not sure if that is sarcasm or not. You see this is why I said you either didn't read it or don't understand it. You continue to say that AMD is misrepresenting Bulldozer as 8 core.
For the last time it IS a real 8 core processor. It's not merely 4 cores with another 4 for load...
lol Intel fanbois are really trying hard with the verbal gymnastics. Fact is BD can trade punches with SB any day. That's the only way to look at it from a non-fanboi-biased point of view. The mass market with all the over hype aside will see it for what it is and then not being able to really...
Nobody knows if a tracking number was supplied. If it was it's the buyer's responsibility to either collect insurance or write it off. Of course it would rely on the honesty of the buyer.
No that yields negative returns in some games. XFire 6950 seems to be the maximum that gives consistent results right now. Reviews suggest it's also the best XFire/SLI config to date.
The HD7xxx may be different or not. Current CPU tech is the bottleneck right now so unless it's at super...
I'm not an expert and don't think anybody is with the limited information available. How I understand it is that they are neither single cores with an extra hyperthreading core nor 2 "proper" cores. AMD claims that each module has the hardware for 2 traditional cores. They only share the control...
So providing the same performance at a better price isn't great?
Is it being compared against something better but also more expensive?
It's on par at a better overall price and better upgrade path. Only an Intel fanboi can argue honestly that it's not fine.
Let's see... possibly better with...
And you make your decision based on one review? I hope you never have to buy anything on my behalf. Again the price does not factor in the cost of a whole system and the upgrade path. Again the words expected and anticipated pop up.
Self made expectations and hype = disappointment ;)
Do people deliberately ignore parts of a thread or does it just come naturally?
The 8150 wins in some tests and the 2500k in other. I hope you have somewhere to slot that into as without an Intel mobo it's just an expensive brick.
As usual this will be fought out in the budget arena...
How it usually is with Intel. Pay through your teeth for something that is only marginally better. Not AMD's fault. :p
It's amazing how the intel fanbois can complain about AMD's prices. Show us which Intel CPU provides the same performance money wise as AMD. Seems they are holding AMD to a...
Finally a hint at when it will be released? Only problem is that if it's released now it's still going to be frikkin expensive as opposed if it were six months ago. Will have to wait till next year to get it :(
If you're only loosing it that's not so bad but if you're losing it that's a whole other matter...
None of the drives are that spectacular but I did see statistics showing Seagate is second and WD is about twice as reliable. Funnily the WD is the one I had a problem with but I was using it for...
