You could always indicate that if buyer has x iTader and above you'd be willing to ship first or get a 3rd party to help. Also just depends on timing I guess, I've seen items up for weeks on end with not even a response, then someone else posts the same thing 2 days later and it sells on day 1.

The easiest way to start out on Carb is to sell small, cheap things... I also lived in a small town, so meeting up etc was definitely not possible.

I started by selling fans, and small things like that until I worked my way up to selling GPU's/Cases etc (*Note: I've never bought off Carb)...
Since I've moved to JHB, its been a lot easier on the buyers side - so he can see what he buying etc.

Your iTrader is almost definitely not a factor.
Item in need and Location!

So basically if the regular members don't need the items you are selling, you will have to wait for an odd member to come along that might like what you are selling.
Then if the price is really good and someone is willing to buy it even though they don't need it, then your location comes into play - F2F is the fastest and easiest deals I've ever done but living in JHB/PTA really helps with that.

For your sales, I suggest Include free shipping and members with decent iTrader can pay after they received the product.

I think that would be a great idea.

Have an invite system whereby 2 members have to invite someone before they are added.

For new members please also make sure the person you are selling to has an I trader, I remember not so long ago someone new got scammed and left the forum.

I have details on this scammer, unfortunately my car was written off on Friday and I was not able to post about him being a suspected scammer. got a reply from the fake email address that he used, seems he forgot to check that the email address already existed .

1 - Deal Locally only aka deal Face 2 Face.
2 - Take a big buddy so you wont be outnumbered

Or

1 - Deal with high i traders only
2 - Let them ship first before payment
3 - Do research about the guy with contact details and so forth (Facebook, Google)

To verify the facebook one you have to ask the guy to take a pic, selfie of himself holding the product for sale. I think.

And yes this is coming from a noob, I encourage anyone who who potentially deals with me do just that, I wouldn't scam anyone but at the same time I have learned words and niceties mean fuck all in this world.
So I will not expect others to be satisfied with "my word" alone either but that also goes two ways unfortunately.

Even some reputable stores nevermind individuals will fuck you around, I can tell you some stories on that another time.

The day we close user registrations is the day we start preparing to close Carbonite. Communities that don't grow die very quickly, they don't stagnate. Just use your head when doing deals and it wouldn't matter if we had 1,000 scammers here. It's really not that hard.
