Bad News for Anyone Wanting ASUS RTX 30 Cards

I got the following email from one of the ASUS distributors. You cannot count on securing back orders of ASUS cards for the foreseeable future as they will be allocated directly by ASUS.

As you are aware there is a huge shortages on RTX 3000 graphics cards. We [distributor] are working hard on securing as much stock as possible, and after a lengthy discussion with ASUS ZA, going forward - below is the mandate from Asus on how we need to manage any allocation we get.​
  1. No backorders will be accepted and no ETA’s to be given. Any stock coming in will be allocated based on Asus’s discretion. Luckily we haven’t communicated any ETAs to clients yet.
  2. All RTX 3000 cards need to be sold with another Asus product on a 1:1 ratio. See below list of approved products.
    1. Asus Motherboards
    2. Asus ODDs
    3. Asus Gaming Peripherals
    4. Asus Mini PCs
    5. Asus Monitors (Coming Soon)
  3. Points 1 and 2 are mandated by Asus HQ and will be scrutinized on reports. Please make sure to invoice the graphics card with the accompanying Asus product. If we don’t adhere to this we risk losing any future allocations for more stock.
This is the mandate from ASUS and was not an internal decision. Rest assure the same applies to all the ASUS distributors.​

I have friends who ordered last year who are still waiting.

Depending on where they pre-ordered, most likely won't be fulfilled until after the shortages. It's 100% up to ASUS as to who gets stock now, and they're not going to allocate to someone eg only selling R 100k ASUS stock per month.

True but I am not in a rush. This feels like a push for them to sell some of their shit products to boost numbers and get extra profit. Taking advantage of the huge demand :rolleyes:

Feelings like these are quire subjective. If I have to go offbrand (would have liked an Asus GPU) I would rather go for a "2nd Tier" one like Zotac or Palit as there is better value for money there. The Strix prices are fcuking insane.

They will come back to us gamers with more generous offer... Wonder if their brand will still be the favorite to many.

Very sad for me who likes ASUS ROG Strix products, was hoping to get another Strix card to replace my ageing 1080, i guess it's time i give other brands a chance

Spare a thought for me too. Strix board, nice red color scheme....and BAM!!.....Awfull Orange Gigabyte GPU. That shit has to go. #1stworldproblems
 
Guess there is going to be a lot of Asus mobos dropped as 2nd hand then. :ROFLMAO:
 
evetech sold out on 3060 strix for R15k, card can't even mine atm, tuf was 14500 also sold out.
