What a win! Glws

Hey yeah =)

All of the above is totally reasonable.

I am indeed in Cape Town at the moment, but will be back in JHB from this coming Sunday.

The card is in JHB, snapped some pics before I left and putting the post up in between meetings while down here.

Face to face would be great, saves me from having to organise shipping =P

All right, that makes sense and is safest for all involved, I would say. GLWS!

Make sure to meet in a visible public space, like a mall or some sorts, with a buddy. Also, if they're going to do EFT, make sure it's instant clear so that it's visible in your account immediately (preferably same bank if possible), and NO cheque payments. There's been members scammed with cheque payments that bounce

Thanks this is some really solid advice!! I can see why friends have been recommending Carbonite =) but indeed, first time for me here so any and all advice is most welcome

Also I know that R35000 is a big price tag, but figured that is what it costs new from Amazon minus all the in between bits.

Is this a reasonable ask? 😅

Or is letting the market decide, exactly the answer to this question 😂

You can ask whatever price you want bud.

Why is there no warranty ? These cards are supposed to be warrantied by Nvidia themselves, they arent off the shelf cards.

I think the OP means there is no local warranty, but definitely a developers (Nvidia) warranty on the card. Just find out from Nvidia themselves with the serial number and they can tell you the remaining of the warranty on the card.

Indeed - that is what I intend to do now. Going to follow up with Nvidia using the serial number and ask how one might go about replacing things from SA.

May take them a bit to get back to me but I will post updates.

It shouldn't take weeks, actually within a matter of days you should be able to know. I always contacted AMD head office for queries and their technical staff replied within 1-2 business days so, hopefully Nvidia will do the same.

Hi there,

So here is the warranty info from NVIDIA

https://i.gyazo.com/ac3b356f30a8c92b8f5f3652e2f08212.png

The graphics card is still under warranty for a year but would have to be transported to the states probably.

With that in mind the new price would be in the region of R25 000.
R10 000 less than the asking price as I understand that shipping and insurance costs are real if you were to claim on the warranty.
Otherwise the card is brand new, the price (R35000) is the same as the amazon store less the shipping costs etc.

Will update the post with new price and warranty info in a bit 🤘
