Have you tried Matrix warehouse? I'm sure they go for around R100 new. I got some generic mustek branded one that works pretty great.

thanks! their site didn't have stock or a price, and i contacted them today to ask for a quote but haven't gotten back to me. nice to know new ones are as cheap as R100! thanks!
