Call of Duty: Modern Warfare (2019)

Crossplay is HUGE, if it isn't part of the game at launch I'll wait. Every year on PC cod the issue is everyone just plays TDM non stop. Crossplay brings a massive injection into the overall community, making it easy to find pretty much any game mode and get games at pretty much any time.

One thing I absolutely hated was the claymore/'bouncing betty' spam. Otherwise the game is buttery smooth and the gunplay is really decent.

They should just leave the playlists like it was in the beta but remove filtering on quick play. Let it just cycle through all the game modes.

Played BO4 till maybe JAN, was really fun. Did the whole master prestige etc, TDM was 90% of my playtime. I had people on my FL playing BO4 a ton til maybe Feb/March but I heard they added some sort of pay to win system and shortly after the game died. Now I see it's picking back up again, obviously people trying to get back into COD.

They added massively OP weapons in the crates. Pissed a lot of people off. Game lost a lot of it's local player base after that.

Same here but every now and then i try my luck at it and then die a 100 times.
Leroy bloody Jenkins all the way for me, have been playing bfv mostly after stopping cod at ghosts, it's been exceptionally comfortable going back to running and gunning[emoji16]. Loving mw 2019.

Problem with cross play is that alot of console players believe that the reason they lost a gun fight is due to you being on KB + M, not because they`re just bad. Console players have really aggressive aim assist and i got my ass handed to me a few times by a decent console player so i feel its fair but like i said above this will just cause alot of them to switch crossplay off.

I really hope I`m wrong because this could be a really good thing and we wont just be stuck playing the 2 TDM lobbies that are available with the same 30 guys over and over.

While controller players do have aim assist, it won't make up for the raw reaction advantage you have with KB + M.

Sure, maybe in a straight up engagement both will be pretty much equal, but if you play aggressive then you have an advantage with KB + M simply because you can flick your hand to immediately do high degree turns while a console player can't. This is assuming the aim assist is tuned to compensate for the added accuracy that mouse aim gives you as well.

For example, say a player is aiming through a door at an angle (maybe sitting in a corner). An enemy runs straight through the door at an angle the player could not see. With KB + M, you can quickly adjust your aim and actually stand a chance. With controller, you can't do this and are dependent on turning speed set in options, not by your own arm movement.

Note that the same disadvantage applies to the enemy player in the above example as well. Sprinting through a door to find someone sitting 90+ degrees to your left or right will mean different things for players on different control schemes.

When the beta was going I did not lose gun fight once to controller players and I am not some S tier CoD/FPS player. The advantage is just too much.

Cross play might be needed to keep the player base up. But I do not expect controller players to compete at the same level as KB + M players. If the game is balanced around this then it is fine. It can be as simple as trying to even the teams based on input used (if it's possible).

Beta was great with cross play however now there is rumors of loot boxes and microtransactions.

That most certainly is not a rumor. Its Activation, there WILL be loot boxes and micro transactions. They announced BO4 would not have these things but guess what 3 months after release back to their old tricks :D
They also stated BO4 would be the most supported call of duty and would constantly be adding content for 3 years, guess what they are about to or have already released the final content for BO4 within a year of release.

It's the same old tricks every year. I'm still waiting on those mod tools they said they would be releasing for MW3(within a few months of release).

The BO4 update is out and they added the microtransactions in after the review window.

I don't see this being any different.

While I didn't find this to be a big deal since I wouldn't play it anyway, WTF are they still doing platform exclusives in 2019.

These contracts run for years. I think the last one started with WW2, so in 2017. Apparently they run 3-5 years. In 2016 when they probably started negotiating there was no way they foresaw the whole no DLC thing. They probably signed for timed DLC exclusivity, so now there is no DLC they had to give them something. If it had to be something this is about as good as it gets.

And this is what really annoys me the beta was excellent and I was really looking forward to play this now I think I'm gonna give it a miss.

Yeah because deep pockets and kids with their parents credit cards is the target market these days

Idk but i never drop money on cosmetics, in battlefield/apex I always target players with paid or epic cosmetics first so I don't want that sort of treatment from someone with a similar mindset.

The main focus of the Special Ops mode will be on Operations. Infinty Ward says that these are special multi-stage encounters designed to let you tackle them however you want. Four players will enter Operations with their custom-selected loadouts, which includes the same gear they have unlocked and customized for multiplayer, and attempt to take down a specific objective. Players can approach these Operations stealthily, go in guns blazing, or even bring a vehicle if they need one
