Hey guys, im looking for some must haves with regards to software to improve the PC experience that you guys could recommend and why, examples for me -

malwarebytes is a must have but it must be original and fully activated.
HWInfo Portable is a must have.
GetStation/Station is a must have.

Im now looking for something that can keep my pc drivers up-to-date any recommendations? - or any other tools u use day to day that you recommend to make your lives easier with regards to ur pc?

Keeping drivers up to date is a FAR FAR less important task than some software makers would like you to believe.

Things that change frequently like graphics drivers or peripheral drivers will tell you to update them. And anything else is pretty much set and forget.

K-Lite Mega codec pack I find pretty essential though. Unless you use one of the various players which don't need codec packs as they're just blatantly distributing them as part of their own package against the wishes of the creators of those codecs (like KMPlayer) (VLC however also doesn't need codecs and isn't stepping on anyone's toes).

Agreed i just fresh installed windows, and my plan is to try keep it "junk" free like when u install something then uninstall it, files remain - i would like to find programs that could solve this issue trying to keep my pc less cluttered and remove redundant stuff

CCleaner
Just be careful it's stupid powerful so should pretty much be left on default.

I find that the more software you put on the worse for performance....

Agreed, thats the unfortunate side of it, but thats why i would like people to mention what they use every day to improve their PC experience and why they use it as it helps others find software they didn know about and might also be interested in using

Try Ninite - Install or Update Multiple Apps at Once Which is free
Install and Update All Your Free Programs at Once. This is great for reinstalled windows. You choose in a list what programs you want and then ninite (as a small standalone installation executable) downloads the latest version and installs it (Skips bloatware, adware etc).

Some of the software you can choose from include
Chrome
Firefox
Malwarebytes
Avast
OpenOffice
VLC
K-Lite Codecs
Spotify
HandBrake (small program that Convert Videos)
iTunes
GIMP (Photo editor)
Steam
Google Earth
Dropbox
TeamViewer 14
ImgBurn
RealVNC
TeraCopy
Revo Uninstaller
WinDirStat (Directory Statistics)
Discord

Lightshot print screen - It's not essential, but it is nice to have, replacement for built in Windows screenshot, cool thing is it allows you to directly upload your screenshot and get a link. I find it very helpful. Give it a try ^^,

So many applications like this. The one I was using was Greenshot, and before that Gadwin PrintScreen and before that Wisdomsoft Screenhunter.
Gotta say though none of them feature direct upload.

By the way I said Paint.NET earlier but if you really need some real image editing juice then there's GIMP.

If just wanna crop and resize, maybe do some other minor touching up then I use Paint.NET.
But if I want to do some indepth stuff covering multiple layers, like possibly editing or creating a gif, then I switch over to GIMP.

Was gonna add Greenshot. Discovered it the other day and it's changed the game. Lightshot any better?

XYplorer is just so much better than File Explorer.

Hard Disk Sentinel gives me peace of mind.

PowerArchiver to extract almost anything

Oh and if you frequently copy files around let's not forget good old Teracopy. Absolutely ESSENTIAL in the XP days. Now less so but despite massive improvements by MS it's still so much better to use when copying/moving a large bunch of files.
