I do not want one of those sold in Makro etc. Their stack of weights is not heavy enough. I want one of those you get in a gym, a dedicated bench press machine.
Reason I want something like this is I train alone at home so if I could not lift that last one, I will be in trouble if I just buy a bench and a set of weights...
I want a secondhand one that a gym replaced with new equipment.

Item: Bench press machine
Age: any
Price: R?? (I have no idea what these go for)
Warranty: Not needed
Packaging: Nope
Condition: Working smoothly
Location: Bloemfontein
Reason: I want to kick some ass (No not really:))
Shipping: Nope its too big but delivery would be nice
Collection: If in Bloemfontein or close enough, yes.

I am confused by this.

Do you need a machine? Or just the Bench with the racks? Or just the rack and already have a bench?

I might have a rack that I do not use. It is narrow though so your hands will go on the outside like the old school ones.

I will try to post a photo. I need the complete unit.

@Flex perhaps OP save up some money , and get a power cage. Then he can squat , bench , partial deads etc etc..

Seems his issue is not having any one to spot him when in trouble.

With a machine you are implying the propper bench machine which has the arms that pivots where the weights are placed on the ends.

True, but it seems he needs the bench part of it as well by the sounds of it.

@OP

I am thinking something like this :

You can then set the safety pins up or down when you squat. Problem is they are are pricey AF if you can't find one secondhand.

Good idea yeah!

I have that exact brands Bench Press

If I were OP I would invest in dumbells.
Dumbell press >>>> Bench Press

And a squat rack to do dumb bell curls in :)

Well, that is how the gym I goto operate.

Weirdly enough, in Virgin Active sunward, this is not a massive issue :)

Virgin active PTA, i wanted to kill people because of this

They're good for some sort of muscle isolation & also if you're coming back from an injury.
I am not a fan at all. The motion is way too rigid.
If you want to recover from injury dumbells are much better. And as for isolation, most people go down way too far with that machine, Not isolating your pecs anymore but having your shoulders assist.

But let us not derail the mans thread any more than need be.

I think he means this machine.

Spot on. This is exactly what I am looking for. All the gyms I ever went to had these. Maybe free weights are better, but something like this is what I want. Due to working overtime almost daily, with very short notice, I just cancelled my gym membership. I do want to start again, but at home.

If you want your own small gym setup, machines are not the way to go.
a few bars, interchangeable dumbells and a bench is all you need.

Getting a 1 purpose machine that takes up lots of space is pointless for a home gym

I already have a lot of free weights for biceps training etc. I have an area outside I will put it and use it. My house is too small to take all the equipment. I will only get this and then use the free weights as well.

You can do every single muscle with free weights. not just Biceps. I do hope you are not planning on only doing biceps with free weights and then chest with the machine.

That is my plan. This is what I did when I was still a member of a gym.
