After you've bought a decent helmet... buy earplugs.
I agree with the above.Wont consider it decent if you need earplugs
I agree with the above.
A proper helmet won't make your ears ring from the wind.
I had the issue on my previous budget spirit helmet where if you turned your head you would get this annoying whistle that would almost hurt your ears.
With my new LS2 helmet that is a thing of the past.
Also did I mention the LS2 helmet is comfy as hell. You barely feel the weight of the helmet when it's on your head.
So thankfully no more sore neck from a heavy helmet when leaning forward on my zx6r.
usually I don't like graphics on a helmet ( they remind me of an 8 year old with a R1000 sticker budget) but this is so nicely doneI agree with the above.

Yea LS2 makes some nice looking helmets, and I must say, since I got my Vector C Evo I have not been happier.usually I don't like graphics on a helmet ( they remind me of an 8 year old with a R1000 sticker budget) but this is so nicely done

You do realise that there are massively different levels of noise/sound during a motogp or f1 race where you have a dozen other bikes/formula 1 cars together on a enclosed track compared to driving on a national road which is generally in a open area right? It's not about what you hear but about the damage it's doing.
Just because it doesn't bother you any more with specific lid doesn't mean you aren't suffering long term hearing damage.
MotoGP okes have ear plugs in for good reason...and they have the best helmets in the business. Same with F1 and any other motorsports.

Not to mention the huge speed difference...
So saying you must wear earplugs whenever you get on your bike or you will damage your ears in the long run is just pure bullshit...
It's a pity that AGV aren't local as I was looking at the sport modular. Very fancy helmet. I suppose the Schuberth are an alternative but they get mixed reviews sometimes.
How old are you?So back to this thread, GF says no to a bike.
I’m playing the long con tho
32 years old going on 13 and asking for permission. It's not about age. It's about respect. If I die riding a bike, my GF will be broken. How old are you?
If I may ask

We do not ride to add days to our lives, we ride to add life to our days. Having said that, if she loves you she will let you get one, if you love her, you will not do it. This is going discuss this further. Ask here to ride with you so that she can trust you.

Well fucking said sir!
I am talking to her and telling her that I will get a bike, eventually. She recognizes that I really want one and will get one.
Right now, I’m paying off my home.
This
My now wife and then girlfriend had this discussion when we initially started dating. At that point it was strongly opposed as she had a family friend who is wheelchair bound due to a motorcycle accident. Lots of talking and getting her to understand my love for motorcycles have eventually led to her being the one convincing me to rather keep or buy another motorcycle when I was looking at moving to a car before our little girl was born. I've have since bought a car for the first time in years, but there is still a motorcycle parked in the garage, and there will always be one (in some shape or form).
Also, big ups on wanting to settle that home loan, same focus here right now.
Throwing my 2c into the arena for support of Shark. Landed head first onto a concrete sidewalk after being flung off my bike. Although I lost a chunk of short term memory, my head did not burst open like a melon and I was fine (relatively). The Shark S900 held up beautifully and did what it was supposed to.
Well to be honest I would expect that from any helmet and not any particular brand.
Where brands and models come in is the day to day of NOT CRASHING and that's where Shark failed me miserably.
I'm using two sharks. What do you find wrong with them and what are you using?
I liked my Shark RSI fusion, was the best helmet I have had before the Shoei NXR (RF-1200)
That kind of confirms my statement.
In isolation you would think Shark is fine and acceptable. But when you've had better (for the same or very similar money) then it's not quite there.
I know the Shark Speed R is a race Helmet or suppose to be racy helmet and is very loud, my best friend had a speed R and also purchased a GT-Air to replace it, his brother had the 900C and said it was a lot more quiet.
I had my Shark for 5 years and its wind noise was still less than the all the others when new, and it was used daily, visor mechanism was also solid after 5 years.
My Shark RSI Fusion is very very close to the NXR, The Shark was Half the price though.
Have had Cheap helmets(like VR-1 and MT stuff, that was utter crap), Airoh, AGV, Bell, LS2 in the past as well.
Leaking (in winter) and terrible wind noise on a Shark Speed R and on a most daily use feature the manner in which their visor clips in is terrible and heavy handed.
But more so their local support was just shocking after my complaints and eventually get it refunded and went back to Shoei.
Couldn't be happier with my GT-Air or the three other Shoei's before it.
Maybe if Shark is all you know it's just fine...but against Shoei it's not even in the same ballpark.
